Over Ripe Pear Crumble - Hiroko's Recipes

When I have some Over Ripe Pears, I usually bake ‘Pear Upside-down Cake’. ‘Rice Cooker Pear Upside-down Cake’ is easier. However, my husband recently stopped eating cakes and I shouldn’t bake cakes. So, I made this ‘Pear Crumble’ today. I used less amount of Butter and Sugar than this recipe, and it still tasted good.

Makes

1 Serving*Today I double the recipe and made 2 servings

Ingredients

1 Over Ripe Pear *OR Ripe Pear1 teaspoon Maple Syrup, Golden Syrup, Brown Sugar, White Sugar, etc.*Note: You may wish to add Ground Cinnamon

Crumble1 tablespoon (15g) Butter *softened1 tablespoon Caster Sugar OR Brown Sugar2 tablespoons Self-Raising Flour OR Plain Flour2 tablespoons Quick Oats OR Rolled Oats

Method
  1. Preheat oven to 180℃.
  2. To make Crumble, combine all the Crumble ingredients and mix well.
  3. Over Ripe Pear is very soft and you don’t need to cook it. Simply peel, remove core, cut into small pieces, and place into a ramekin OR oven-safe bowl. Drizzle with Maple Syrup (OR other sweetener).
  4. Cover the Pear pieces with Crumble and back for 15-20 minutes or until nicely browned and Crumble is cooked.
  5. Enjoy with Cream or Ice Cream.
