So I just received my Owlet 3 days ago and I love it when it works. I feel so silly, but I have been having the HARDEST time with the sock, so I am constantly receiving a yellow alert regarding sock placement issue. The first night it worked intermittently, but I ended up receiving 5 notifications and ended up turning the base off; I talked to a rep the following day and ended up going up a sock size and couldn't get it to read AT ALL the second night and chalked it up to me not putting the sock on tight enough. Tonight, I've been messing with it for 45 minutes now and have been sending pics to a rep and ended up sizing back down a sock and FINALLY just got it to work. Long story short, did anyone else have these issues at first? Does it get better? Which foot do you typically place it on and do you switch feet often? The first night I had the pod on the bottom of her foot (sock on left foot) and tonight I finally got it to read with the pod on the top of her foot (sock on right foot), so I'm not seeing any rhyme or reason to the placement yet. Also, do you place it on them before they are asleep or when they are down? I'm not sure it matters, but my little one is quite the wiggle worm and I've been putting it on towards the beginning of our bedtime routine because I don't want to wake her by messing with it when she is asleep and I'd have to wait until she's in a pretty deep sleep.Anywho, I really love the idea of the Owlet, so please send ANY and ALL tips and tricks my way because it's been a frustrating few nights! Hello! I have the owlet and have not had any issues with yellow notifications or false alarms. I switch the foot the monitor is on often. Can you see both the sensors in the windows perfectly? I always make sure the sock is snug to where if I pinch it it doesn't pull away from his foot if that makes sense. We are in the second size sock the one from 1-5 months or whatever it is.

I normally put the sock on when I sit down to feed him right before bed time.

I'm not expert but if you want to post a picture maybe I can see if it looks similar or what the difference is to my babies? Like option Love option Hug option Funny option Sad option Wow optionLikeShow 3 Previous CommentsViolation ReportedReport as InappropriateMMomma2Two1ontheway@meganeturcios,

I just saw your pictures, and put it on her right foot not her left. I'm not sure why but for me when the sensor is on the bottom of her foot it gets better readings. Hope this helps! So basically put it on mirrored to how you have it now. Where it said "behind big toe" or whatever it says lol just put it there on the other foot. Hope this helps!! The third pic looks exactly how I use it on my daughter. Not sure why you're getting so many yellow alarms. Like option Love option Hug option Funny option Sad option Wow optionLikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriatecchivel@meganeturcios,

I'm not sure that it's on correctly. I think you may hVe it on backwards, I think the Velcro is supposed to go by the pinky toe. Have you tried asking them in the app? Their customer support is pretty good. They should be able to get you squared away. Hi! Thanks for responding! The sensors are correct, it seems that the pod thing sits on the side of her foot. I actually sized down to the size 1 sock and that's the only way I can get any reading--- I always get comments that her feet are super tiny, so maybe they really are. But here are some pics... any feedback is very appreciated! Like option Love option Hug option Funny option Sad option Wow optionLikeViolation ReportedReport as InappropriateCColey1715

We haven't had one yellow notification yet and we have had it for about 6 weeks. I always put it on his left foot just because I feel like I get the best fit on his left foot. We are in the sock size 2. LOVE our Owlet!!! Like option Love option Hug option Funny option Sad option Wow optionLikeViolation ReportedReport as InappropriateMMomma2Two1ontheway

Yep, had this ALL the time at first. I think I just wasn't putting it on tight enough. You need to make it SNUG on their foot. Like super tight. I didn't do that last night because I was in a hurry to get her to sleep and got 3 yellow alarms. Ugh. I wanted to go fix her sock but she was passed out and I was not about to wake a sleeping baby. I just turned the base station off and back on and for some reason it never loses connection until a few hours later, I have no idea why it wouldn't just look harder for a reading!! Your pictures look similar to how I put it on my DDs foot. I always do the left foot. There's a little notch that is supposed to go right behind the pinky toe. Do you have that lined up correctly? So you want the big circle thing on the top of her foot, not on the bottom. So the red light sensors on the bottom of her foot. Like option Love option Hug option Funny option Sad option Wow optionLikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriatemmeganeturcios

Hi everyone! Thanks for all the feedback. I have been bugging the heck out of their online support lol. I guess you can put the sock on either foot; the notch just needs to be behind the pinky toe, so that's why the pod is sometimes on the top or bottom of their foot.

Maybe it's just trial and error, but I'll keep trying. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who has had issues with it... like I said before, it's making me feel like a real dummy!

Thanks for all the responses! Like option Love option Hug option Funny option Sad option Wow optionLikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriatemmamalamaaa@meganeturcios,

Yes the sock can go either way! I switch it almost every night. Also from your pictures it looks like it might need to be tighter In the one picture I can see the red light from the sensor when it's on my babies foot I can't see the red lights at all.

Good luck it really is the best once you get it working right! :) Like option Love option Hug option Funny option Sad option Wow optionLikeViolation ReportedReport as Inappropriateppamjens

Try putting a regular sock over the top. That decreased my yellow alerts a lot at the beginning when the sock was a little bigger for my tiny preemies foot. I almost never get the alerts now.
