This page covers the Ox location in RDR2 and how to get a Perfect Ox Pelt. The Ox is a massive animal in Red Dead Redemption 2. You'll most likely find them at farms. You'll need a Perfect Ox Pelt for part of the Coyote Scout Jacket and the Boar and Bull Fowler Boots at the Trapper.

"Angus Oxen can be found on ranches and farms across West Elizabeth, New Hanover, and Lemoyne. As herbivores, their main diet consists of common roughage including grasses, hay, and silage. There large mammals can be taken down with either a Bow with Improve Arrows, or a long scope rifle. Oxen hide and horns can be used for crafting."

Oxen can be found at Downes Ranch, southwest of Valentine. Go at night time and use Improved Arrows to avoid being detected.

How Kill the Ox in Red Dead 2 for a Perfect Ox Pelt

To get a perfect Pelt you'll have to find a Perfect Ox and use the right weapons to kill it.

Oxen are massive animals. Since they are penned up at a farm, simply use binoculars to find which Ox is pristine. Use a sniper rifle with any ammo, except explosive, or a Bow with Improved Arrows for a more silent approach. After all, you are stealing the Ox.

Upon killing a pristine Ox perfectly, you'll earn a perfect Ox Pelt, Ox Horn, and Prime Beef.

Perfect Ox Pelt Uses

The Perfect Ox Pelt can be used along with a Perfect Coyote Pelt to craft the Coyote Scout Jacket in the Bronco Buster Garment at the Trapper.

The Perfect Ox Pelt can be used along with a Perfect Boar Pelt to craft the Boar and Bull Fowler Boots in the Desperado Garment at the Trapper.
