Viewers have been waiting two years for the third series of Ozark but the show was finally released on Netflix last month. The season introduced Wendy Byrde's (played by Laura Linney) brother Ben Davis (Tom Pelphrey) who instantly became a fan-favourite. However, by the end of the series, things weren't looking good for Ben as it was feared he could put the entire family in jeopardy.
WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Ozark season 3.

Ozark season 2 cast: Who plays Buddy in Ozark? Who is Harris Yulin?
Despite trying to settle down and create a new life for himself in Missouri, Ben became far more reckless when he decided to stop taking the medication for his bipolar disorder.
So when he found out about his sister being in business with Helen Pierce (Janet McTeer), he couldn't help but try and stand up for her.
He started screaming at Helen in front of her teenage daughter, Erin (Madison Thompson) about what they had been getting up to.
Sadly, everyone knew Ben had to be kept quiet or they would all be at risk.

Is Ben still alive in Ozark?
Wendy told Ben she was taking him out of Missouri for his own protection.
However, she actually sacrificed her brother to hitman Nelson ((Nelson Bonilla) so he could kill him.
She did this so she could continue to protect the rest of her family and show her loyalty to Omar Navarro (Felix Solis).
At the end of the series, a body wrapped in film was seen in the back of Nelson's car which was being taken to Mary's funeral home to be incinerated. But was it Ben?

There are questions surrounding Ben's "death" as he was never actually seen killed by Nelson and viewers could not see whose body it was wrapped up in the car.
Following the order to kill Ben made by Helen, Omar instructed Nelson to kill her.
The reason why he wanted her dead wasn't made completely clear but could be because he felt he could trust the Byrde family a lot more than her so no longer needed her around.
So if he had already planned for Helen to be murdered, why would he allow Ben to be killed as well, especially knowing how much pain it would Wendy?

Another theory is that despite his orders, Nelson decided not to kill Ben after all.
When he murdered Sue (Marylouise Burke) in season two, Nelson showed remorse for his actions, saying that he "liked her".
Could Ben have persuaded Nelson not to murder him after Wendy had left?
Season four of Ozark has not yet been renewed by Netflix but if it does come back for a fourth season, maybe there's a chance fans will get to see more of Ben.
Ozark season 3 is available to watch on Netflix.
