The following story contains spoilers for Season 4 of Ozark.
The money laundering may never end, but for now, Ozark has. Season 4 of Netflix's smash hit crime drama series brought a fitting conclusion to the Byrde family's path of violence and destruction that made its way through low rent motels, strip clubs, funeral homes, FBI cooperation, and, of course, Mexican drug cartels. And while the ending will likely leave some happy and many angry, it's an ending that fits the gloomy worldview that the show has always embraced.
Stars Jason Bateman, Laura Linney, and Julia Garner all got to see their characters go through emotional arcs in the final season, beats that matched the journeys they've all been on to this point.
Will the show go on? That much remains to be seen, but Season 4 was always planned as the end—an ending that would ring true. Does this ending fit? Sure. Does it mean the show will never be revived ever again? Well, who knows. If ten years down the line Netflix—or maybe even some other streaming giant that doesn't even exist yet—comes calling for a revival series, or even a movie, who's to say that Team Ozark would say no? It could be on the table for all we know.

Will there be a Season 5 of Ozark?
For now, no. Season 4 of Ozark was planned as the end of the show from the moment it was announced by Netflix back in 2020, and that's the primary reason that it ultimately was supersized and split in two halves: it needed more time to make sure the creatives behind the story could finish what they were working toward.
In Season 4, Part 2, showrunner Chris Mundy, along with stars Jason Bateman, Laura Linney, and Julia Garner, seemingly get the ending they were building towards.
However, it's worth considering the recent trend of television revival series.
Not even talking about TV prequels/spin-offs—shows like Better Call Saul or HBO's upcoming House of the Dragon—but in recent years the pure revival series has become relatively common within the industry. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson came back for The X-Files between 2016 and 2018, the original Law & Order is currently back on the air, Dexter: New Blood aired last fall, and we can't forget about 2017's amazing Twin Peaks: The Return. In short: a show "ending" doesn't mean it's definitely over.
And, well, let's be frank about this for a moment: Ozark is very nicely set up for a revival series somewhere down the road, if Jason Bateman, Laura Linney, or showrunner Chris Mundy ever get the itch. The entire Byrde family—Marty, Wendy, Jonah, and Charlotte—made it all the way through to the end, and we could pick up with some more crime-filled money laundering adventures any time down the line. The show may have ended for now, but this story may just have juice to continue a bit down the line.
