The Department of Justice has brought into operation revised Codes of Practice under the Police and Criminal Evidence (Northern Ireland) Order 1989 (PACE).

Codes of Practice

• Code A 2015- the exercise by police officers of statutory powers to stop and search
• Code B 2015 - searches of premises by police officers and seizure of property found by police officers on persons or premises
• Code C 2015- the detention, treatment and questioning of persons by police officers
• Code D 2015 - the identification of persons by police officers
• Code E 2015 - the audio recording of interviews with suspects at police stations
• Code F 2015 - the visual recording of interviews with suspects at police stations
• Code G 2015 - the statutory power of arrest by police officers
• Code H 2015- the detention, treatment and questioning of persons under Section 41
