Pat Sajak was born and raised in Chicago. His father worked in a factory. He died when Pat was young. Sajak graduated from Farragut High School in 1964. Then he attended Columbia College Chicago. Meanwhile, he worked as a clerk at the Palmer House hotel. He rendered his services in the U.S. Army as a DJ for the American Forces Vietnam Network during the Vietnam War.

Career

In the early 70s’, Pat Sajak worked as DJ when his popularity increased and he was offered a voiceover Job at NBC’s ‘Today’s Show, which later changed into anchoring.  ‘KNBC-TV’ hired him as a weatherman in the late 70s. In 1981, the management of the ‘Wheel of Fortune’ asked Pat to host the show. He hosted the show for the daytime and evening version for the next six years.

He has also hosted ‘Larry King Live’ ‘Dream House’ and ‘Just Men.’ In 2007, Pat came up with his own designed puzzle game ‘Lucky Letters’. Pat Sajak broke the world record in 2019 for hosting the ‘Wheel of Fortune’  game show for 38 years and 198 days. He is signed to host Wheel of Fortune until 2022.
