Visit Patsy Cline's final resting place in northern Virginia.
Patsy Cline is considered to be a top female vocalist in country music. Cline passed away too soon and had a lot more songs to sing. She had an extensive vocal range and so much control over her voice. After leaving a benefit concert, she boarded a small engine plane with three others and made it 90 miles from their destination before crashing into a wooded area on a farm. The weather was poor, and unfortunately, no one on the plane survived. She was married with two young children and died at 30 years old.
Cline was a very generous person and would assist young singers so that they could continue to sing and focus on their music. After her death, some of her friends, such as Loretta Lynn and Dottie West, had a bell tower memorial erected close to her grave at the Shenandoah Memorial Park. The plaque reads "In memory of Patsy Cline by her many friends and fans." Many visitors leave coins on the gravesite and the memorial for good luck. If you are in the area, pay your respects to this country music legend.
