I'm watching a 5:30 interview with the choreographer for season 1 and how she came up with the steps, etc. Since her "assistant" (i.e. husband) is not a trained dancer (just like much of the cast), but moves well, she tried the moves with him first. The interview shows them dancing. Her husband? Alan Tudyk.Love that guy. Of course there's a Firefly member involved somehow. Every show I like seems to have one involved in some small way.by posted Joss Whedon allegations split off into a new thread: https://forum.next-episode.net/viewtopic.php?id=12953by posted WilliamDrakeMcGregor wrote:Phanlix wrote:While we're on THAT subject... where's our Smallville remake? A James Gunn version of Smallville would be kinda awesome... may need to write some letters lol. Please, not another remake... I am already worried enough about Buffy and Scrubs :)They're remaking Buffy and Scrubs? I have no hope for Scrubs, they already tried to do a season without JD and Turk and we saw how that went. Buffy though... that could be interesting. I thought Whedon was done though, given the number of women he abused, including the original Buffy.by posted Tried one more time to get into it. Can't. Same as with Loki, this Multiverse BS is not my piece of cake. In my opinion the whole alternate dimension crap is just an excuse for lazy writers and producers. "Oh, we killed of a character people liked" - "No problem, next episode/season/series/movie he will just be back, from/in an alternate dimension" "Looks like we fucked up the world building by doing x" - "don't worry, next episode/season/series/movie we will just zip all to an alternate dimension where we can start over." Nothing has any consequences - at all. You can just fix any lapse in character planing or development with "just another dimension". And the worst is, if then dimensions "collide" and we see characters meeting their alter egos. Bah... Only very few shows who managed this in a smart way where the alternate dimensions where integral part of the story line and woven in perfectly... like Fringe, Continuum, Counterpart and to some extend Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D (even there, at some point I was quite annoyed as well) So, no matter if I like peacekeeper or not... the setting doesn't work for me. And I really LOVED season 1. But this season. Thanks, no.by posted I'm halfway through my 2nd watch, I really like it. such a shame it ended. This is one of the few shows I never skip the title screen, it's so well done and really catchy. When i heard the new song for the 2nd series, at first I was pissed, as I liked the old one so much, but it eventually grew on me and now I like it much more that the first series.by posted Finished season 2 today and I gotta say this grew on me and I'm disappointed there are no plans for a season 3.by posted OMG. And I'm usually cool with the f-word, but jfc EVERY sentence from everyone? Watched S02E01. Meh, except for Harcourt's bar experience. God, that felt good! Not real, though, cuz we all know what would have happened once she hit the floor and didn't get up. Not enough cars for the orgy-ites. I thought it might be a hallucination until Economos showed up. What a useless scene unless it's referenced later.I felt the same way, I honestly couldn't get past ep1 of Season 2 yet. It was just.... a tonal drop from the last one IMO. I wish Economos had been shown to be secretly hanging out with them all and they were all getting along or something. Just too many negative vibes the first ep after ending on a high note at the end of season 1, it was jarring narratively. Also, on several watch throughs I couldn't skip the opening scene either! Just such a good score, and the expressionless faces while doing the dance were definitely interesting. I could say some artsy stuff about interpreting the dance, but I'll pass on that.lighton wrote:WilliamDrakeMcGregor wrote:The story will be continued in other films, which is however what many people criticized...that Peacemaker should've been it's own narrative and not a stepping stone to the new DCU. On that I agree, with Season 1 they managed it perfectly, to make it feel like a part of the universe but keeping the story "local". Season 2 not so much. He probably felt that he had to do it in this way, but it kinda ruined season 2 for me. That and too much navel-gazing.Lol, you guys still have any hope that the DC universe movies, TV shows, or otherwise won't stop being a complete mess? James Gunn is no Kevin Feige (sp?) A Marvel-style merged cinematic universe from DC ain't gonna ever happen. Ever. There's just way too much incompetence and disjointedness out of DC right now for it to happen. I say this as a Huge, Huge Superman fan. I would love nothing more than to have it be so, especially since DC hasn't piecemeal sold the rights like Marvel has. Which is why they can never bring in the X-men with the characters they've popularized, which WERE completely minor characters no one really cared about back in the day. I liked James Gunn's Superman. As a standalone movie it was amazing for a superman fan. I can't believe he pulled Krypto off right. And wow, what a Mr. Terrific. Nathan Fillon has been voicing DC characters, specifically Hal Jordan for a while now. Him doing Guy with the goofy ass haircut was a treat as a DC fan. That said. He's insane if he's going to try and build that universe out. Origin stories exist for a reason, and while we've seen too many superman origin stories over the years and to some extent they're right we don't need another one... to establish a DC universe, you kind of do. What I would love to see more than anything is a Batman/Superman film that covers both their origins and them meeting for the first time. While we're on THAT subject... where's our Smallville remake? A James Gunn version of Smallville would be kinda awesome... may need to write some letters lol.by posted Finally finished S01. Never skipped the opening dance - I love it!
