Pepsi Bottler Sells Dayton Plant To Troy Investor

More than a year and a half after Pepsi announced plans to open a Fairborn warehouse, shutting down operations in Dayton and Springfield, the company has sold its former Dayton facility to a Troy investor.

The Pepsi Cola bottling plant was sold in several parcels along 31-47 Kiser Street, Milburn Avenue and Chapel Street for $600,000 this week, Montgomery County property records indicate.

The main street address for the Pepsi warehouse was 526 Milburn Ave., where a large sign proclaimed the beverage “Dayton’s No. 1 Soft Drink.” The company also had a facility at 233 Dayton Ave. in Springfield.

The buyer was Milburn Investments LLC, registered with the state of Ohio by Kevin Brock, of Troy. The seller was Pepsi-Cola General Bottlers.

Milburn Investments gives the same street address as 1HVAC and Brock Air Products (and other businesses), 2578 W. Ohio 55, in Troy.

In October 2017, Pepsi said it would open a Fairborn warehouse that would shift 150 jobs to the Greene County suburb, while shutting down operations in Dayton and Springfield.

PepsiCo said the company’s facility in Fairborn, a 150,000-square-foot operation on Spangler Road near Ohio 444 and Interstate 675, “will enable us to more efficiently and effectively serve our customers and consumers in the surrounding counties.”

A message was left for Brock Wednesday.
