PepsiCo has released a new Mtn Dew flavour in the US in time for Autumn.

Mtn Dew Thrashed Apple will roll out on 13 September in partnership with retailer Kroger. “With the perfect combination of tart and sweet, Thrashed Apple is a refreshingly bold drink,” PepsiCo said today.

The apple-flavoured extension comes after a busy Summer for Mtn Dew in the US. Last month, PepsiCo released a Cheetos-flavoured Mtn Dew as well as an alcoholic Mtn Dew seltzer.

In March, the brand poached basketball player LeBron James away from The Coca-Cola Co to star in an advertising campaign for another Mtn Dew launch – energy drink Rise Energy.

James previously fronted Sprite campaigns for Coca-Cola.
