How Long to Cook Frozen Corn Dogs in Air Fryer

About 7 minutes if you go straight from the freezer to air crisping. However there are two methods, another with a quick trip in the microwave I will explain in the recipe card too.

I mean seriously, these are as good as you remember getting them at your local fair! Really crispy crunchy on the outside but still tender and warm on the inside. These are frozen, we have homemade corn dogs in air fryer here too. Game changer y’all.

Tips: My Favorite models are the Cosori or making Ninja Foodi recipes with the lid that is attached.

It is best practice to put food into a hot basket. This is how to preheat air fryer first before adding your food so it becomes as crispy as possible. For best results, here’s a printable free air fryer cooking time chart here for your fridge.

A close-up photo of a hand pulling out the basket of an open air fryer on a light-colored surface. The interior of the air fryer basket is empty and features a mesh design, perfect for cooking your favorite dishes like bang bang shrimp. The edge of the air fryer has a latch mechanism for securing the basket.

All you need is a box of your favorite brand of frozen corndogs really, Tyson has a great one that tastes deep fried this way, that is it!! No prepping your air fryer hot dogs because the breading is already on there. If you want to get the outside super crispy you can use a bit of olive oil cooking spray. I didn’t think that was necessary but to each their own.

With this machine you will use the lid that is attached with the button on the front that says air crisp. You will then follow the same directions listed below.

We started with making air fryer frozen tater tots and air fryer frozen chicken nuggets but we just couldn’t stop from there because this new way will give you the ideal crunchy texture like at the fair.

How Long to Air fry Frozen Mini Corn Dogs

I still set to the same temperature, but 5 minutes is usually long enough to crisp the outside batter. Same goes for the larger ones. Leave them in once the timer is up for 3-5 minutes to get the insides warm too. 😉 This is now my girls’ favorite crunchy crispy snacks.

Cooking Tips

Always always preheat your machine for 5 minutes before adding any food to this countertop appliance. You want to lay them in one single layer so they don’t overlap. This will allow the hot air to circulate properly AND another trick to getting them perfect was flipping halfway through.

Once the cook time stops and you think they are as crispy on the outside as you want, leave them in for at least 3 minutes after that. This added time allows the middle to get warm too.

Instructions

  • Preheat air fryer to 360 degrees for 5 minutes. Put frozen corn dogs in air fryer basket, without overlapping, and close drawer.
  • Set to 360 degrees for 6-8 minutes flipping halfway through, or until they're as browned as you like on the outside. (be careful the stick is hot)
  • Once browned as desired and timing stops turn off machine. Allow corn dogs to sit in the basket, closed, for 3-5 (ideally) minutes to continue heating the middle.
  • Open basket and enjoy with favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

Alternative Method If you do have access to a microwave I would recommend these steps; set pieces inside microwave for 1 minute per corn dog, then put into preheated air fryer at 360F. for 6 minutes flipping halfway thru. Then enjoy, you don’t have to leave in the machine for this method.

This is a great one. Try it and tell us know how much better they are than before in the comments below! We love air fryer frozen fish sticks and a frozen burrito in an air fryer. You can cook frozen chicken wings in air fryer too. The ultimate in air fryer appetizers.

Same thing with making frozen mozzarella sticks in air fryer , they are so much better in this little “magic machine”.

If you’d like to make a fun version of Instant Pot corn dog bites, I suggest following this recipe this other way too. You can use traditional cornbread mix with this. All you need is an egg mold and a trivet.

    1. If it is every time there may be an issue with your machine. We have been doing this for years and works great every time no matter what brand we are using

    2. @THIS IS BS, Heat them in the microwave for about 45-60 seconds. Then reduce the time in the air fryer by a couple of minutes, perfection!
