Items may be fed to pets in the Pet Yard to increase the levels of their abilities. Almost all items have a feed power value, which is displayed in the item description. The amount of feed power required to increase the level of an ability varies depending on the current level of the ability (see Pet Abilities).
Feed power generally increases with the tier of the item, and many untiered items have more feed power than their tiered counterparts (to learn which places are the best to farm for these UT items, see the Pet Maxing Guide). Special food items (Pet Food) can also be purchased with gold in the Nexus or found in the realm on some occasions. They only exist to feed pets and serve no other purpose.
It is advisable to use higher feed power items when possible in order to limit the expenditure on pet feedings, since it costs fame or gold to perform each feeding and the cost per feeding increases with the rarity of the pet (see below for feeding prices).
To feed the pet you must go to the Pet Yard, found in the Nexus or Vault, and use the ‘pets’ button on the yard caretaker to open the pet interface.

Interface

All of your pets will appear on the left and a feed/fusing tab will appear on the right. The “Feed” tab is open by default. Select the pet you want to feed in the left side of the interface, click on the items you want to feed, and then the appropriate payment method. Feeding a pet will cost you either 10 to 1750 fame or 5 to 150 Gold for each item, depending on the rarity of your pet. You can feed up to eight items in a single feeding action, but you will need to pay for each individual item fed.

Using the Forge is a good way to consume UT/ST items with low feed power more efficiently and/or generate items with high feed power for less effort, effectively allowing one to combine items with low feed power into items with higher feed power.
These items provide the most feed power within a given forge tier (may not be 100% accurate):
- D: 350 from Amber Encrusted Helmet
- C: 750 from Cloak of the Planewalker
- B: 1000 from Candy-Coated Armor, Ghostly Prism, or Plague Poison
- A: 1250 from Tome of Holy Protection
- S: 1300 from Skull of Corrupted Souls
- SS: 1500 from Omnipotence Ring
It is clearly not worth forging at D tier when C tier provides more than twice as much feed power for less than twice the cost. Considering the expense and relatively poor improvement in feed power, it is also most likely not worth forging at B tier or higher for feeding — in obtaining the materials, one inevitably earns
fame they could use to feed multiple items with less feed power. Moreover, items in these tiers already have fairly high feed power, making it inefficient to use them for forging — contrast this with e.g. using 4 Sprite Wands (150 feed power each) to forge Planewalker, a net gain of 150 feed power. Additionally, the facts that the Planewalker blueprint can be purchased for a mere
3150 and that Sprite Worlds are easy to farm (for Marks of Limon and even Sprite Wands to dismantle) make it one of the best choices. More than two of these can be forged eached day, limited by Forgefire
