OnlyFans regarding chargebacks: "If a User seeks a chargeback or dispute from their credit card company, the User’s access to OnlyFans may be discontinued or limited. If you believe your account has been limited in error, please contact support.

OnlyFans does not protect its creators from chargebacks, instead they take back any money that is being disputed FROM the creator in question. This could be tens, hundreds, or even thousands of dollars.

Creators spend time, energy and money to make content, custom or not. For some it is a part-time job, a second job, a third job and/or full-time job. Some use the money to pay bills, cover childcare costs, pay for schooling, cover medical expenses, rent, etc. No matter what the income is used for, imagine how scary it is to be left in a vulnerable position where, out of the blue, money can be scooped up from your account because of the lack of protection from OnlyFans.

When a chargeback happens, all the content the creator has made is essentially just given away for free. It is very discouraging for creators and causes a great deal of distress. Not only does this affect creators, but also their wonderful, genuine, kind and honest fans. Creators love their fans, so when a fan one has built up a good relationship with turns around and claims fraud to OnlyFans, it can be absolutely devastating. Not only is the money gone, but the whole relationship was a fraud in itself. It leaves creators hesitant to interact with fans and form a strong connection and in turn, fans may not receive the attention, and connection, they were hoping for.

Fraud is very common and very scary. However, there should be much better protection for creators and OnlyFans needs to make some changes. Now, OnlyFans does offer two-step identification, but it is not required. Two-step identification can help eliminate fraud because not only does the user have to enter their password, but also receive a code to their phone number or email. Fraud is harder to claim when not only does one need a password to access the OnlyFans account, but also have access to one's phone and email. Of course, emails are password protected and so are mobile devices, so those are additional passwords that would need to be obtained in order to even access one's OnlyFans account, making fraudulent claims, well, fraudulent.

As a start, requiring two-factor identification should be mandatory. But overall, this whole policy, or lack there of, needs to change. Something must be done to protect creators, just as much as they protect their fans.
