The Issue

Pitbulls.

All of us have either heard about, seen, meet, or have a Pitbull.

Pitbull. Even the name Pitbull sounds mean. But, oh how VERY wrong this is.

Pitbulls (in my opinion) are one of the nicest, sweetest breeds of dogs. But, alas, the rest of humanity is left to believe that Pitbulls are mean, harmful, and sometimes, even violent. We know that this is not the case, because of the horrible people are out there, making Pitbulls have the reputation they do now.

In the short Kitbull, made by Disney, it features a stray kitten that meets a Pitbull. The Pitbull is forced to compete in dog fights and is very afraid of the kitten. They later on become friends, and escape the "owner" of the pitbull, and get adopted together.

"Not only is the movie a beautiful story about animals, but it also spreads awareness about the mistreatment of pets — something that good-hearted people have the power to prevent.". This was from a website called Greenmatters.

The pitbull in this story sadly isn't very far off from what is happening around the world.

"...Although there are many breeds of dogs used for fighting worldwide—including the Fila Brasileiro, Dogo Argentino, the Tosa Inu and the Presa Canario—tthe dog of choice for fighting in the United States is the American Pit Bull Terrier. ... This does not mean that the pit bull is unsuitable as a family pet. It is important to remember that any dog can behave aggressively, depending on the context, his genetic background, and his upbringing and environment. When a dog is treated well, properly trained, and thoroughly socialized during puppyhood and matched with the right kind of owner and household, he’s likely to develop into a well-behaved companion and cherished member of the family.". Says ASPCA.

I do not want to see pitbulls suffer anymore. Please sign, and together,  we can end Pitbull abuse.
