Math Place Value0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are one-digit numbers. Numbers from 10 to 99 are two-digit numbers.
Let us look at the digit 6 in the number 64. It is in the tens place of the number.

| 6 | 4 |
6 tens = 60
So, the place value of 6 is 60.
Now let us look at the digit 4 in the number 64. It is in the ones place of the number.
4 ones = 4
So, its place value is 4.
Properties of Place Value:
I. Each digit in a number has a place value. The place a digit takes in a number tells us its place value.
II. The face value of a digit never changes.
III. The face value of a digit is the digit itself.

Math Place Value Chart
In math place value chart we will learn numerals from 0 to 100. In place values the places of ones and tens are explained. Numbers from 1 to 9 and zero; learns ‘nine and one more is ten’; the numeral 10; two digit number names and numerals from 0-99 in ones (0 to 9), tens (10-19), twenties (20-29) etc. till nineties (90-99).

Numbers from 11-20, such as number 11 have two digits and each digit is in a different place value. The left digit is the tens place and in 11 there are 1 tens. The right digit or last digit is the ones place and there are 1 ones. Therefore there are 1 tens plus 1 ones equals to 11
