Im not saying that the Hound is useless or anything but... Blood is already very easy to track and thats pretty much the only feature of the dog no?in the Old Hunter Online it was harder to track animals so it definitely justified the use of pointer and bloodhounds. But in this game they dont seem to be very useful. < > Showing 1-15 of 30 comments Yard-Dog® View Profile View Posts 2 Jun, 2021 @ 8:18am They're particularly useful in zeroing in on the start of the blood trail (after the initial hit-sight). Also, petting the dog warms the heart. #1 MorbusGon View Profile View Posts 2 Jun, 2021 @ 8:37am The dog makes sense for me when a shot animal from a large herd runs in a circle and with all the tracks it is simply difficult to determine the most recent one. The Bloodhound is just chasing the latest clues and I don't have to look for the linked clues on the cell phone. #2 Pinger View Profile View Posts 2 Jun, 2021 @ 8:44am you've obviously never had tracks that backtrack and crisscross other tracks, so which to follow. For those alone they are worth it when that supposedly 100% quick kill shot was just flesh wound. Ok atm I carry a tent so I can spawn it as it gets in way too much when needed. Just don't use it near geese/ducks/rabbits and hares until fixed as it still crashes the game on triggering a track #3 Pete Gaimari View Profile View Posts (Banned) 2 Jun, 2021 @ 8:52am 1 1 1 It's a dog. A companion. I call him Buddy because he's my buddy. He doesn't have to track blood for me. Just come along and get treats. Just like my real dog. #4 El Poto View Profile View Posts 2 Jun, 2021 @ 9:52am We all tend to forget how hard was the start up in this game. For beginners a dog would be awesome since they'll be messing up shots often. Even I mess up some times. That and the case already pointed by Pinger makes it worth. And of course is cool and many people, like me, love dogs.:steamhappy: #5 Goltzhar View Profile View Posts 2 Jun, 2021 @ 9:55am It is very useful when you have shot 3 animals (especially if wounded) in a herd and there is 30 different animal tracks and as above (Pinger) says "backtrack and crisscross other tracks". Or it could just be a lot of tracks from other animals just where you shot your animal. But make sure he is not in front of you .... sometimes it does not show the warning "Invalid Target" , tried to shoot a moose from 50m 4 times.... NO HIT... same with a fox and a bear. #6 Eekhoorn View Profile View Posts 2 Jun, 2021 @ 10:14am It made me turn off all visual hints in game. No more flashing ugly neon colored blots in the world... no tracks, no outlines, no POI's, nothing.Makes the game instantly 10 times better. I love it. #7 kubanskiloewe View Profile View Posts 2 Jun, 2021 @ 9:44pm i love the dog so much and without its help i had NEVER found some small animals lying in high grass !! I have all visual helps turned off to make it more realistic; so the dog is a must for me. Only thing which is overdone is the huge bloodspots ! Sometimes thes are bigger than the animal :-) #8 will wabbit hunter View Profile View Posts 2 Jun, 2021 @ 11:07pm the dog also barks to warn of charging animals bison buffalo warthogs wild boar etc. #9 Shizanketsuga View Profile View Posts 3 Jun, 2021 @ 12:01am Apart from its emotional value the doggo's usefulness is a bit situational. When I do my usual routine and am all sneaky with my bow I can see where the animal lies. No need for a bloodhound. But when I do use other weapons and have to jog for a minute before I can even begin looking for the start of a blood trail a doggo is a neat little cheat code. #10 WarpLover View Profile View Posts 3 Jun, 2021 @ 7:45am The thrill of a dog wears off. Too needy. But good to have with a tent, in case you don't find your animal, THEN I go get my dog from the tent. #11 DopaTrain View Profile View Posts 5 Jun, 2021 @ 9:41am Of course its easy to track with track highlights on. Turn them off. I really don't care. #14 Pete Gaimari View Profile View Posts (Banned) 6 Jun, 2021 @ 2:34pm

Yeah, and we don't care that you can't handle a dog. You're an example of why I don't need a human. #15 < > Showing 1-15 of 30 comments Per page: 1530 50 theHunter: Call of the Wild™ > General Discussions > Topic Details Date Posted: 2 Jun, 2021 @ 8:10amPosts: 30 Discussions Rules and Guidelines Close
