Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are bringing the classic Pokemon titles to the Switch. Released in 2006, this generation four title pushed the Pokemon franchise into new, exciting worlds. It was the first Pokemon title to allow online play. Released on Nintendo DS, they remain some of the most popular Pokemon titles released.

It makes sense that Nintendo would choose them for a Switch remake. Not only do these versions have updated graphics, but new features and Pokemon not included in the original are there. This makes it a must for both old and new players.

Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Release Date

Both Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl can be pre-downloaded now. All Nintendo titles release at midnight in the local time zone. These two titles are no exception. You need to wait until the clock strikes on Friday, November 19th to play.

Of course, this means certain areas get the game ahead of others. Australia and Asia will get the title first. Europe will come after this along with the US and Canada last. You can preinstall before so you can get straight on playing when the time comes.

If you have ordered a physical copy of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl, you need to wait a little longer. See when your local store opens on Friday 19th so you can grab a copy. They may even do a midnight release, though unless there is a huge demand this is in doubt.
