Pokemon Go Kingdra: Evolving Seadra into Kingdra

The evolution line for this Pokemon is as follows: Horsea, Seadra, and Kingdra. It takes 25 Horsea candy to evolve Horsea into Seadra. Your other option is to catch a Seadra in the wild and evolve that into Kingdra directly.

A lot of Pokemon GO stems from lore within the Pokemon universe: pulling elements from the mainline games and even the anime. Just like in the mainline games, you’ll need a dragon scale to evolve Seadra into Kingdra. But unlike the mainline games, it’s a process you can do entirely on your own.

A dragon scale is considered an item in the game and like many items you can find these at PokeStops. Each time you spin those PokeStop icons what comes out is a matter of chance. But when it comes to special evolution items there’s a method to the madness.

These items will drop on the seventh day of your PokeStop daily bonus streak. You can get any of the five evolution items but those odds aren’t bad at all. It shouldn’t be long before you get what you need. Like any other evolution, you’ll need candies to make it happen. In this case, evolving Seadra into Kingdra requires 100 Horsea candies.

If you plan things out ahead of time you should be able to get your dragon scale while grinding for more Horsea candy. By the time you get 100 Horsea candies you should be ready to evolve your Seadra into Kingdra. Once both of these conditions are fulfilled, simply use the dragon scale item on the Seadra you want to evolve.
