Reshiram, the mascot for Pokémon Black, has joined the ranks of legendaries in Pokémon Go.

You need to have a good understanding of the Vast White Pokémon's weaknesses and counters if you want to add it to your Pokémon Go Pokédex.

Like the previous legendary Pokémon, Reshiram will be available in five-star Raids, so, if you want to add it to your Pokédex, you'll need a team of fellow trainers. Though, thanks to Remote Raiding, you can now join raid battles from the comfort of your home.

Reshiram counters and weaknesses in Pokémon Go

Below you'll find Reshiram's weaknesses and recommendation on the best counter Pokémon to use against it in Pokémon Go:

• Reshiram type - Dragon and Fire-type
• Reshiram is weak against - Dragon, Ground and Rock-type Pokémon
• Reshiram Mega counters - Mega Rayquaza, Mega Diancie, Mega Tyranitar, Mega Garchomp, Mega Altaria, Mega Aerodactyl, Mega Latias, Mega Latios, Mega Swampert and Mega Salamence.
• Reshiram non-Mega counters - For Dragon-type, Rayquaza, Origin Forme Palkia, Origin Forme Dialga, Haxorus and Dragapult. For Ground-type, Rhydon, Groudon, Garchomp, Hippowdon and Therian Landorus. For Rock-type, Tyranitar, Rhyperior, Rampardos, Tyrantrum and Terrakion.
• Tactics - Since Reshiram is itself a Dragon-type Pokémon, you may find it best to avoid using this type against it for, if Reshriam's using the wrong moves, you'll also be taking super effective damage. If you have Mega Rayquaza, however, then you should, of course, use it! Otherwise, it's a good idea to focus on building a type of Ground and Rock-type Pokémon to smash Reshiram into the dirt.

Reshiram CP in Pokémon Go

Reshiram will have the following CP ranges when you battle and, hopefully, catch it in Pokémon Go:

• Raid Boss CP - 53,394 CP
• CP range when being caught - 2217 to 2307 CP
• Weather boosted CP range (Clear day and windy) when being caught - 2771 to 2884 CP

Reshiram Moveset in Pokémon Go

Our recommendation for Reshiram's best moveset is Fire Fang as a Fast Move and Fusion Flare as a Charged Move.

Keep in mind, however, that Fusion Flare can only be obtained through the use of an Elite TM or by catching Reshiram during specific events. Due to this, if your Reshiram doesn't know Fusion Flare, Draco Meteor is a good alternative Charged Move. You may want to have Draco Meteor as a second Charged Move if you do have one with Fusion Flare.

Everything we know about Reshiram

Reshiram is a legendary Pokémon from the fifth generation and had its first game debuts in Pokémon Black and White.

Alongside Zekrom and Kyurem, Reshiram is a member of the Tao trio, which refers to the three legendary dragons that make their home in the Unova region.

As the trio's name suggests, these three Pokémon are heavily inspired by the concept of yin and yang from Taoism. Reshiram is the representation of yang in this trio, which is why it's coloured white and has fire as one of its types. Both of these features are two of the main characteristics of yang.

This connection to yin and yang is furthered when you explore the Pokémon mythology surrounding Reshiram.

Originally Reshiram and Zekrom were one whole dragon-type Pokémon, which was partnered with two brothers. Yet, the conflicting ideals of these brothers led to this dragon Pokémon being split into Reshiram and Zekrom, with the natures and appearances of these new Pokémon contrasting one and other.
