Pokemon Legends: Arceus - How To Evolve Golbat Into Crobat

Game Freak's latest game, Pokemon Legends: Arceus has struck a chord with fans, both new and old. For many players, the big reason seems to be how Arceus is able to provide a fresh take on the long-running Pokemon franchise formula. Instead of being an aspiring Pokemon Master, players are taken back to the beginnings of the Hisui Region, which eventually becomes Sinnoh. Here, they're part of the Galaxy Expedition Team, seeking to not only understand Pokemon but to compile the first ever PokeDex.

While the story and gameplay elements provide a fresh take on the series, players ultimately still need to "catch 'em all" in order to fill out their PokeDex. Pokemon Legends: Arceus brings back a ton of fan favorite Pokemon, and even add a new twist on many of them by giving them a unique Hisuian Form such as Growlithe and Voltorb. Players can even attempt to capture special Alpha versions, which are not only stronger and more aggressive, but know moves their normal counterparts don't.

Naturally, Pokemon evolution is still a key component for many of these creatures inside of Pokemon Legends: Arceus. While most are as straightforward as hitting a certain level requirement, some, like Golbat, require going a step further. Here's everything players need to know in order to evolve Golbat into its more powerful form, Crobat.

Players that are used to hopping into the mainline Pokemon titles and quickly stomping their opponents will likely be taken back by Pokemon Legends: Arceus' difficulty curve in comparison. It can be a bit of a difficult game, which will force players to find new and unique ways to battle against their opponents and wild Pokemon. This may lead some players to use Pokemon that they don't normally grab throughout other titles, like the exceedingly speedy Crobat. To better showcase what Crobat is capable of in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, the following guide has been updated with more information about its stats and abilities.

Evolving Golbat Into Crobat

The Flying and Poison type Pokemon, Crobat, is seen by many as one of the most powerful non-legendary creatures in Legends: Arceus. Thankfully, its previous forms, Zubat and Golbat, are fairly common to find and available in every zone but the Cobalt Coastlands. Zubat is ready to evolve into Golbat starting at level 22, but in order to take it to its final form, players will need to make sure their friendship is high.

Golbat will only be ready to evolve into Crobat once its friendship level with the player reaches a certain level. While not particularly difficult, it may take some time. Keeping the Pokemon in the active party, battling with it, and using it to harvest resources like berry trees or tumblestone ores also help improve friendship. EXP Candy can also be given to raise the Pokemon's happiness level.

While the evolution notification will pop up as soon as the friendship level is reached automatically, players can keep track of it by visiting Belamy at Jubilife Village. Belamy will check Pokemon friendship levels once Request 28 called "Measuring Your Compatibility" has been completed.

Where to Catch Crobat

For players who want to jump straight to the final form, Crobat can be found in the game, provided they know where to look. Only located in two specific zones, players will want to visit the Wayward Cave in the Coronet Highlands or the Snowpoint Temple at the Alabaster Icelands.

Alpha Crobat Location

Players looking for the strongest version of Crobat will want to find the powerful Alpha Version. Visiting the Wayward Cave area of the Coronet Highlands during nighttime hours will have the Bat Pokemon flying around. Originally visited during the "Scaling Perilous Heights" main mission with Warden Ingo, players should return here from the Highlands Camp.

Once inside the cave, players should go to the larger area with the small body of water. Using Basculegion to surf the water, players will want to ride through a tunnel in the back where the Alpha Crobat will be located.

Those that want a Crobat in Pokemon Legends: Arceus can find an Alpha variant or simply evolve the Zubat line to its finale but what exactly is Crobat capable of and is it worth catching or training up its other forms?
