Pokémon Legends: Arceus - How To Get (& Use) The Linking Cord
Maybe your like
Pokémon Legends: Arceus has introduced a new evolutionary item that players can get and use called the Linking Cord, and longtime fans of the franchise will probably find this item more useful than anything. In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the Linking Cord is loved by several Pokémon, particularly the Pokémon that could, traditionally, only evolve through trading with another trainer. There are four Pokémon in Legends: Arceus that can still evolve through trading but finding the Linking Cord is an alternative method to their evolution.
Part of the challenge to fully beat Pokémon Legends: Arceus is to complete the first recorded Pokédex in the Hisui region, and the Linking Cord allows players to forgo traditional methods in favor of self-sufficient completion. This isn't the first time that a variation of the Linking Cord item has been featured in a Pokémon game, however, as those who played Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team may recall the Link Cable item. The Link Cable acted similarly to the Linking Cord in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which means players can get Pokémon like Alakazam on their own.

The Linking Cord affects four Pokémon in Legends: Arceus, namely Kadabra, Machoke, Haunter, and Graveler. Once players acquire a Linking Cord, they can use it on each of these four Pokémon to evolve them into Alakazam, Machamp, Gengar, and Golem, respectively, similar to how the Dawn Stone in Pokémon Legends: Arceus can be used to evolve Kirlia and Snorunt. It should be noted that other trade Pokémon such as Scyther, Electabuzz, Onix, Magmar, and Rhydon are also in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, but rather than using the Linking Cord, players will need to use the items that they would normally hold during their trade evolution.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus - Linking Cord Locations
The Linking Cord is similar to all other evolutionary items in Pokémon Legends: Arceus in that players can purchase one from the Trading Post for 1000 Merit Points. Merit Points are simple to earn, as they only require players to connect to the internet and find the satchels of other players who blacked out in the field. After finding a satchel, players can claim the reward of 50 to 100 Merit Points from the "Lost and Found" menu. Similar to Porygon, Porygon2, and Poyrgon-Z in Legends: Arceus, the Linking Cord can also be found in Space-Time Distortions but they aren't limited to one specific area of the Hisui region. If players are lucky, they may even find several Linking Cords during a single Space-Time Distortion session.
The Linking Cord can also be found, randomly, from breaking shaking ores throughout the Hisui region and defeating the Pokémon that pop out, such as Graveler or Geodude. Additionally, a Linking Cord is guaranteed as a reward for completing "Request 64: Getting to Know the Ghosts." Unfortunately, both these options are severely limited compared to the Trading Posts and Space-Time Distortion options in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Nonetheless, there are plenty of Linking Cords to be found to evolve multiple Pokémon in Legends: Arceus.
