The Pokemon Let’s Go tea is a necessary item in Pokemon Let’s Go if a player wants to gain access to Saffron City. Although this was also the case in previous Gen 1 Pokemon games, the way in which you get the tea in Pokemon Let’s Go is different to how you got it in Blue, Red, Yellow, Leaf Green and Fire Red. As it turns out, it’s actually a whole lot easier to get it in Pokemon Let’s Go, but it still isn’t immediately obvious, especially if you’re trying the old way. Pokemon Let’s Go Tea – How to Get It

The Pokemon Let’s Go tea is different to its predecessors because you don’t need to figure it out for yourself anymore. In previous games, you needed to recognize that the guards blocking the way to Saffron City were thirsty. After that, you needed to buy tea from the Celadon Department Store.

The Pokemon Let’s Go tea, however, is given to you by Brock. After defeating Erika, the Celadon City Gym Leader, you’ll see Brock outside of the Game Director’s Building, located to the right of Celadon Department Store. Talking to him will cause him to give you several items, one of which is the tea that you need to give the guard in the building to the east of Celadon City.

Giving this to the guard will prompt him to tell you that he’s going to share it will all of the other thirsty guards, which is the game’s way of telling you that all four entrances to Saffron City from Celadon City, Vermilion City, Lavender Town, and Cerulean City have been opened. All you need to do is talk to Brock as soon as he appears outside of the building and he’ll provide you with the Pokemon Let’s Go tea.
