Pokémon Sword & Shield: How To Find & Evolve Cherubi Into Cherrim

Cherubi has taken up the berry guardian role in Sword & Shield. As such, it requires a unique form of Pokéhunting to obtain.

Where to Find Cherubi

Instead of patrolling the tall grass, Cherubi can only be found lurking in berry trees scattered across the map. That's right, Cherubi is one of the berry guardians that drop from trees and steals back a portion of berries after a trainer has gotten too greedy. Cherubi has a 50/50 drop rate from trees located in the North Lake Miloch and the Watchtower Ruins regions of the Wild Area.

Depending on the region, trees will drop Cherubi of various levels. The best level-to-drop rate ratio probably comes from berry trees in Axew's Eye (25%/Lvl 35-40) and Giant's Seat (30%/Lvl 30-35). Trees in the Hammerlocke Hills drop Cherubi levels 50-52, but at a drop rate of only 5%.

Evolution and Best Battle Tactics

Cherubi evolves into Cherrim at level 25. Cherrim can play a strong supportive role in double battles. Trainers can bring Cherrim out of its petal shell by using Sunny Day, giving a fun bonus to utilizing this Pokémon with a fire-type teammate. Cherrim boasts rather lackluster stats overall, but its biggest strength is its special attack, making Solar Beam a highly effective move. Petal Dance is an excellent finishing offense for Cherrim, after which it can switch to supportive tactics with moves like Helping Hand.
