Pokémon Sword & Shield: How To Find & Evolve Feebas Into Milotic

They say beauty is found on the inside, and that's definitely the case when it comes to Feebas. This Water-type may not look like much, but if you as a Trainer can see its potential, you'll have a solid battler on your hands in time. Milotic was recently featured in an episode of Pokémon: Twilight Wings, the web series sharing anecdotes of characters from Pokémon: Sword and Shield. Here we see a tiny Feebas befriending the water trainer Nessa in her childhood, before watching it gracefully pounce through waves in the present day with the Gym Leader. Train one up, and you too can bask in the Milotic majesty.

Location And How To Evolve

Feebas can be caught through fishing at the lake on Route 2. This Pokémon only has a one percent appearance rate, so practice patience in your hunt. It's a weak Water-type that doesn't learn anything worthy on its own, so you'll want to evolve it as soon as you can. For this, Feebas will need to be traded while holding a Prism Scale. This item can be found in that same lake you caught it in. Simply water bike around until you see something sparkling beneath you in the waves. Equip it to your Feebas, have someone trade it back with you, and you'll now have your hands on one of the most majestic water Pokémon to exist.

How To Use Milotic

With a base special attack of 100 and a base special defense of 125, Milotic is a weapon of mass destruction when it comes to opposing teams that have fire-type and rock-type Pokémon. Teaching it Rain Dance is highly recommended in order to boost it's Water-type power. No need to get fancy here, teaching it Surf and Hydro Pump will carry you, both of it which it can learn on its own at level 40 and 52. Many trainers choose to teach it Hyper Beam to utilize its power, but at 50,000 watts, its quite an investment for a Normal-type move with only 5 PP.  Instead, use one slot for a support move like Recover or Protect.
