Pokémon Sword & Shield: How To Find & Evolve Golett Into Golurk
Maybe your like
Judging by its Pokédex entry, Golett seems to have been tailor made for players with a penchant for loyal and slightly tragic constructs: supposedly created from clay many years ago, they still follow the last orders of their long gone masters.
In a more practical sense, they’re extremely good candidates for filling your Ground or Ghost type role in your team, as their base Attack stat starts out decent and then becomes monstrous with their evolution into Golurk. If this sounds like a good fit for your team, here is how to find and evolve Golett into Golurk in Pokémon Sword & Shield.
Finding Golett
Relatively speaking, Golett isn’t the hardest pokémon to find. The earliest you can encounter it in either version is in the Wild Area: it has a 35% chance of spawning during a sandstorm in the Dappled Grove. Otherwise, you’ll have to unlock more of the story to see it more often: it spawns in Giant’s Cap, Giant’s Seat, North Lake Miloch, Rolling Fields, Stony Wilderness, and Watchtower Ruins, as well as on Route 8.
The best chance you’ll have at finding Golett will be through overworld encounters in Giant’s Seat and North Lake Miloch during sandstorms as well as in the Watchtower Ruins during normal weather.

Evolving Golett into Golurk
Golett, like most pokémon, require no special mechanic to evolve: once your Golett hits level 43, you’ll have a nice new Golurk to call your own provided that you didn’t interfere with the evolution.
However, it might be worth it to delay the evolution until level 44, as that’s when Golett learns Phantom Force two levels earlier than Golurk. Phantom Force is an essential part of Golurk’s movekit because it’s one of the few physical Ghost-type moves and therefore takes full advantage of Golurk’s incredible attack stat. While Golett and Golurk do learn other ghost-type moves, they rely on the pokémon’s Special Attack stat, which is quite frankly abysmal.
Optimizing Golurk
The most recommended moveset is Phantom Force and Earthquake, two powerful physical attacks, with the other two slots occupied by Heavy Slam and your choice between Hammer Arm and Dynamic Punch. Heavy Slam is a pretty powerful Steel type move enhanced by Golurk’s immense weight, and can come in handy in certain situations. Hammer Arm and Dynamic Punch are both useful Fighting type moves that each come with their own tradeoff: Hammer Arm will drastically lower Golurk’s speed, while Dynamic Punch only has 50 accuracy. It’ll be up to you to decide how to slot in the powerhouse into your own team dynamic.
