Pokémon Sword & Shield: How To Find & Evolve Vanillite Into ...

Oh, Vanillite. You are the bane of nostalgic Pokémon fans. Those who believe Charizard is the peak of Pokémon design think an ice cream cone is unworthy to live in a world with yellow mice, whack-a-moles, and piles of sludge. Yet the Gen V stans know the truth. Vanillite is... a pretty mediocre Pokémon that's still kind of cute. Love it or hate it, you have to catch one to complete the Sword & Shield Pokédex.

Where To Find Vanillite In Sword & Shield

In both versions, Vanillite can be found in the Wild Area. It can show up at Bridge Field, Dappled Grove, East Lake Axewell, Giant's Cap, Giant's Mirror, Hammerlocke Hills, Lake of Outrage, Motostoke Riverbank, North Lake Miloch, Rolling Fields, South Lake Miloch, and West Lake Axewell. It'll be all over the place when it snows. Same goes for its evolution, Vanillish, which can also appear on Routes 8 and 10.

How To Evolve Vanillite Into Vanillish & Vanilluxe

Vanillite evolves into Vanillish at level 35. Vanillish evolves into Vanilluxe at level 47.

What Vanilluxe Does In Battle

Vanilluxe is only really good for one thing in a Pokémon battle: making it snow. It has the Ability Snow Warning, which instantly brings hail to the battlefield. This is obviously very useful for running an Ice-type weather team. The hail will empower Blizzard, which is one of Vanilluxe's moves. It can also use Aurora Veil to up its team's defenses during the snowstorm. Finally, it can use Freeze-Dry to do Super Effective damage on Water-types, a type it would otherwise struggle to fight.
