Pokémon Sword & Shield: Where To Find Lucario (& 9 Other Things ...

One of the most popular Pokémon around is Generation IV's Steel/Fighting-type, Lucario. This Pokémon is so beloved that it has appeared in every game's regional Pokédex since its introduction in Sinnoh.

If trainers are looking to add this powerful Pokémon to their team in Sword & Shield, they are in luck. Lucario is present and pretty easy to find in the Galar region, if someone knows where to look.
10 Where to Find
If one's looking to pick up a Lucario just as it is in the wild, head to North Lake Miloch. Lucario can be found here as a special wandering Pokémon in the overworld. It can also be found in the Max Raid dens in various places around the Wild Area and Isle of Armor.
If someone's looking for Riolu instead, head to Giant's Cap, where it can be caught during a snowstorm. Then, level it up with high friendship during the day to evolve it.
9 Early Debut
There have been quite a few Pokémon that were revealed to the public before the generation they're actually a part of. For example, Ho-oh, which is a Generation II Pokémon that appeared in the very first episode of the Pokémon anime.

Lucario is another of these Pokémon. It was introduced in Lucario and the Mystery of Mew movie, which debuted the year before Generation IV was officially released. This early release was just the start of popularity for this fan-favorite, though.
8 Most Popular Pokémon
Despite being around for fifteen years, Lucario's popularity has had some major staying power, with Lucario remaining a huge fan favorite to this day. It's frequently used in promotional material and even appears as a playable character in Super Smash Bros.
The recent Pokémon of the Year poll also cemented Lucario's status as a popular Pokémon. With 102,259 votes worldwide, Lucario was ranked the second-most popular Pokémon in existence, only losing the top spot to Greninja. It even defeated Charizard and Umbreon.
7 Anubis Inspiration
Most Pokémon are based on some sort of creature from the real world. Lucario is no exception to this rule, either. Some may notice that Lucario resembles a canine creature, perhaps most simply just a regular dog.
In truth, Lucario takes much of its inspiration, seemingly, from the Egyptian Anubis. Anubis was a god that had the head of a wolf and ruled over the world of the dead, judging the deceased based on how they lived their lives. This probably explains why Lucario has the ability to see the aura and emotions of the living.
6 Powerful
Its godly inspiration would obviously make Lucario very intimidating to its foes, but regardless of this, it's a very powerful Pokémon. This is not just in terms of its base stat total, though. Lucario is just a powerful Pokémon lore-wise.

Lucario is, according to the Pokédex, capable of reading emotions from over half a mile (one km) away. It's also powerful enough to crush boulders "to dust" with its mental energy.
5 Detecting Emotions
This power to sense emotions is actually a large part of Lucario's design and character. This detection ability begins when Lucario is a Riolu, with the Pokédex stating that Riolu can sense the emotions of others and see their aura. Riolu also has some limited ability to control its own auras to communicate with others in its species.
Lucario is even better at this, being able to read the emotions of others from far away, as mentioned. It also stresses easily, since it is constantly picking up on the emotional states of others. Strangely, it's Fighting/Steel and not Psychic-type.
4 First Mega Evolution
Many recognize Lucario as one of the first Mega Evolutions revealed to the public. It's also one of the first Mega Evolutions many fans were able to meet in the main games, in the Tower of Mastery in Pokémon X & Y.
However, it's also believed to be one of the first Mega Evolutions in existence within the games as well, with Korrina stating that it was the first. Zinnia's grandmother, though, says that Rayquaza is the first to Mega Evolve.
3 Smash Bros.
Via smashbros.comIts ability to sense, harness, and control aura plays a very important role for Lucario in Super Smash Bros., where it has been a playable fighter since Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Lucario has a unique quirk in the Smash series, where its damage counter going up means its power does as well.

It can also get a bit of a damage boost to its aura attacks when it's currently losing the match.
2 Mega Evolved Baby
As noted, Lucario is one of a few Pokémon that have a Baby pre-evolution, specifically in Riolu. As a feisty and ambitious Baby Pokémon, Riolu is actually pretty powerful and useable in its own right, especially compared to other Baby Pokémon.
However, it obviously grows up to be much more powerful as a Lucario. What's interesting is that this is the only time a Baby Pokémon will ever be capable of Mega Evolution, as Lucario is the only Pokémon in the series with both a Baby pre-evolution and a Mega Evolution.
1 Tripling Special Attack
Via: FandomSpeaking of its evolution boosting its power — there's one stat in particular that sees a huge increase. When it's a Riolu, this Pokémon has a base special attack of only 35, which is almost laughable.
However, when it evolves into Lucario, that base special attack more than triples to a beautiful 115. Luckily, Lucario's signature Aura Sphere move in Pokémon is a special move. This is quite the increase, and definitely worth noting for any potential Lucario trainers.
