I've always been interested in the psychology behind male height, especially when it comes to telling porky pies about it. Here's Lorne, who claims 5'8". Although you can see that in shoes (more likely prison thongs with maybe a 1" heel) and who actually seems to be making an effort to stand up really straight, scraping in just under 5'7", giving actual height of around 5'6". One of my favourites, James Rutherford. Who claims to be 5'9" even though he appears much shorter, and is clearly little more than 6" taller than 4'9" Molesterbeck. I think his absolute maximum height would be 5'6" based also on being barely taller the tiny petite cop who processes him. Hansen is 6'2" which is tall, but not giant by any means, and Rutherford looks positively tiny by comparison. Much more than 5" difference.It's understandable why such little guys might exaggerate their heights (unless it is completely routine in the US to include your shoes in your height, which I find weird outside of a police description) but take for example Nathan Downhour. Downhour appears slightly shorter than Hansen, definitely not taller, but gives his height to the cops as 6'2" and later to the lady cop processing him as 6'3". He is rake thin which does make him look a little taller, but I would still give him 6'1" or maybe 6'1.5".As for the tallest predators, I would probably go:Lurch 6'7"Cockburn 6'5"Warrecker 6'5"Lovermangenuis 6'4"I'm sure I'm missing some. There are probably quite a few at 6'2" and 6'3" but these are relatively common heights on the curve, and anything under even more common. John Adam Daniels claims 6'4" on his sex offender page but looks closer to 6'2".Shortest:Molesterbeck 4'9"Molestercruz 5'2"Not sure about others. Now on average, this is what a 4-4.5 inch difference looks like since eye level to the top of a guys head is around 4-4.5 inches.Even though Chris Hansen is wearing dress shoes, this would mean that Forton is a 5'10 guy at best, not 6 foot!As for that douchebag Rutherford, an average male head is 9 inches. The Flagler Beach twins Safraz Kahn and Asfour both claim to be 5'11" and are both clearly shorter.If there is a height chart you are photographed against, it might be used - but I doubt the charts are missing the first inch or so to compensate for shoe height (although perhaps if they are mid-processing, they might actually be barefoot sometimes) so this would be your in-shoe height. Coulson looks 6'0" to me but could be 6'1" with bad posture.I don't know if this "add an inch or two" business is from footwear, or because "everyone else lies, I need to lie too to compensate". Especially for guys around the 6' mark. Most guys who are 5'10" claim to be "nearly 6ft" and most genuine 5'11" guys claim to be a 6 feet, so what's a genuine 6'0" to do? I'm 5'10 or 5'11 or so (I never cared about my height after grade school basketball until internet dating rolled around) and I put that on my profile. 5'10. Gals I met up with said I was taller than they expected. I point out that I'm 5'10 and said I am 5'10 and they said "Putting 5'10 means you are between 5'6 and 5'8." Basically, telling the truth punishes you because the women on there just assume you are lying by 2 inches or so.Guys I know who are shorter than me have estimated my height as being between 5'10 and 6'3 because they legitimately believe they are all 5'10 and then they add the respective number of inches to my estimated height.
