Quantitative hCG Pregnancy Test When you’re expecting, an hCG pregnancy blood test will help you know for sure.
This test provides an accurate measurement of the amount of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) present in your blood. HCG may appear in the blood of pregnant women about 10 days after conception. This pregnancy blood test is more accurate and can detect pregnancy earlier than other home pregnancy tests.²
Under the care of your healthcare provider, this hCG pregnancy blood test may also be used to help identify an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy, evaluate an at-risk pregnancy, or confirm a woman is not pregnant before pursuing medical treatments that could negatively impact a developing fetus.¹

Why Consider This Test
❮ ❯Earlier Detection
A beta hCG pregnancy blood test can detect hCG earlier in a pregnancy than urine tests can; about 10 days after conception.¹,²
Greater hCG Level Accuracy
Unlike other tests that can give conflicting results due to varied hCG concentrations, the Labcorp OnDemand beta hCG blood test can detect pregnancy with greater accuracy because it measures the amount of hCG in your blood.¹,²
Proactive Monitoring
Because a beta hCG quantitative test measures the concentration of hCG in the blood, it may help detect potential problems.
Because a beta hCG quantitative test measures the concentration of hCG in the blood, it may help detect potential problems. Early detection of potential complications could prompt you to see your healthcare provider sooner to ensure you get the best care possible.¹,²

FAQ
-
How soon can a beta hCG quantitative blood test detect pregnancy?
A quantitative hCG blood test can detect exact levels of hCG, the pregnancy hormone, approximately as early as 10 days after conception—sooner than most other home pregnancy tests.¹,²
-
What will my beta hCG results tell me?
Your beta hCG results will let you know the amount of hCG in your blood so you can confirm detect a pregnancy as early as possible. The quantitative measurement helps determine the age of the fetus. Under the care of your healthcare provider, the test may also help you detect potential complications and assess the health of the pregnancy.
-
What are the most accurate pregnancy tests for early detection, and is it possible to get false results?
Blood pregnancy tests are generally considered the most accurate tests available for early detection of pregnancy. However, as with urine/home pregnancy tests, it is possible to receive false results (both negative and positive) from a blood pregnancy test.
False Negative Results (test is negative, but you are pregnant): These usually occur if the blood pregnancy test was performed too early. A rule of thumb is that it takes about 10 days after conception for the test to show a positive result. A negative result may be attributed to not enough hCG in the blood to detect a pregnancy. HCG levels rise very quickly during early pregnancy. If you believe you received a false negative result because you tested too soon and you still have not had a menstrual period, you may repeat the beta hCG quantitative test again after waiting 48 to 72 hours.2
False Positive Results (test is positive, but you are not pregnant): These very rarely happen. You may get this result if you are taking a medication that contains hCG or due to certain medical issues.2
