Prison Break Filming Locations

Michael Schofield's (Wentworth Miller) brother, Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), has been convicted of a sensational murder and subsequently put on death row. Despite the evidence against Lincoln, Michael is convinced of his innocence. With no other options Michael holds up a bank to get himself sent down alongside his brother. Michael hatches a plan, helped by his skills as a structural engineer and having blueprints to the prison in his possession Michael and Lincoln attempt to escape.

Fox River Prison

Most of Prison Break's first season is set in Fox River Prison, which is actually Joliet Prison in Illinois, USA. Joliet Prison stopped functioning as a Prison in 2004.

United Savings Bank

To get himself sent to Fox River, Michael Schofield 'attempts' an armed robbery on the United Savings Bank in downtown Chicago. The filming location in question though, wasn't downtown Chicago, but Queens in New York at the Ridgewood Savings Bank.
