Hey, ive been searching for info on the proper way to store syringes, but im not having any luck. i mostly just want to know what temperature is best for the spores and how long could i hold onto a syringe for before it was bad? --------------------[[[|:.WARNING.:|]]] Nothing i say or do is real, I am simply a computer-bot, programmed to generate random responses and hypothetical questions for forum maintenance purposes only. Store it in a cool dry place, with the needle cover on, if you have one.It will last you at least a couple years.

i used one from 3 years ago, stored i dunno in a box in an attic, took a while to get going but was still viable. --------------------

you can get syringe caps online...no feed stores by my house ever have em.i got some blue ones from a pet medical site

I have a simple wooden drawer where I keep all my smaller "mycosupply's" and I've had syringes resurected (sp?) from upto a year and half from in there.

If you want to store your syringe for a long time, keep them in a clean ziplock bag in the fridge. Would storing a lc syringe in the same conditions for 2-3 months work too? I was about to hit up sporeworks but found one in my room. It doesn't have any contams and looks the same as when I made it. I had a syringe that was in storage in a garage that got hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It was over a year old. Used it a couple weeks ago. Seemed to be good as new. I'm pretty confident this will be fine. I've read reports on the site of people using LC kept at room temperature for 6 months or longer working great. --------------------My Giant Homemade Strainer for WBS

Just test the LC on a jar. The problem with answering your question is that LC's will last different lengths depending on the amount of nutrients available to the mycelium. If the nutrients run out, mycelium dies. Same with oxygen.In your case, since the mycelium isn't black, I would give it a good chance of working.

I keep mine in the bag/in the box they came in. Placed in fridge. Used a syringe that was close to 2 yrs old and had no problem...just much slower growth

Ok perfect!:thumbup: should be fine then. Got 4 and just want to do one at a time or at least just one for a first time grow. Also how many cakes can you inoculate with one syringe?
