‘Protective’ Cat Launches Vicious Attack On Group Of Seven Pit Bulls

An elderly cat launched a vicious attack on a gang of seven pit bulls as they walked past it.

The cat, called Baby, laid into the dogs as they were being walked past its home in Victoria, Canada.

It is thought that Baby, described as “very protective” of owner Del Thompson who was doing some gardening at the time, leapt to his defence.

The cat, which adopted Mr Thompson and his wife nearly 16 years ago, reportedly left one of the dogs needing vet treatment after clawing its face and another owner needing medical attention.

Kyla Grover, owner of one of the dogs which were being walked by the The Pit Bulls of Victoria B.C. walking group, said the seven dogs were “completely minding their own business” during the walk on Monday morning.

“The cat just goes at all of the dogs, not backing down,” she told the Vancouver Sun. “The cat is swiping at them and latched onto one of the dog’s faces.

“I got bit and scratched in the process of trying to separate them. I spent the whole night at emergency because cat bites are nasty.”

Fellow owner Javiera Rodriguez’s pitbull Bandida needed a trip to the vet after the incident, and Mr Thompson and his wife have apparently since reimbursed her for the bill.

‘Watchcat’ - the cat is apparently very protective

Mr Thompson told the Vancouver Sun that the pet leapt to his defence when one of the animals dogs him.

He said: “She’s kind of a slow sort of thinking cat but one thing is she is very protective of me.

“She’s a watchdog and doesn’t know it.”
