Trying to play a couple of PSP games on my CFW PS3 Slim. Looking through a couple of guides I downloaded a few PSP Launcher Pkg files and installed one at a time. All three I tried came up with a message saying Game can be played with connection to the PSN Network, as my PS3 isnt connected I can go no further. Is their a PSX-Place easy to follow guide or can anyone offer any advice. I use Multiman to launch any other games. Many Thanks

So I think I have the correct launcher now, I just need to put the PSP ISO into the correct file structure on my USB stick, Can anyone tell me what that should be so the ISO can be seen then mounted Multiman

The folder you need to put them in should be PSPISO, but I never had any success getting to work with the launchers myself. I think Webman just made it where you can launch them without the launchers but you have to use Webman. Also I would invest in a real external hard drive those sticks will eventually die because they're not made to play games and you will lose the games on the stick.

The USB is only a temp thing whilst I test if things work or not, Once working I will transfer to my HDD, Thanks for your advice ;-)

Does that mean PS2 and PSP games can be played from external if you use the launcher? If not what is the purpose of the PS2 launcher? I've always just installed PS2 ISOs to internal and converted PSPs to PKG so I haven't used either really.

ps2 can only be played from internal ps3 hdd. i think psp can be played over usb and now ps3netserv (stream from pc). the ps2 launcher is needed to mount/launch the ps2 game properly.

i dont know if just making an iso would work. there maybe some format that is needed that is not suppored by any pc software .its been a while but all i ever did was put umb in cfw psp, connect to pc with usb, and drag n drop the iso to desktop. you can try with any disc burning software that can save as iso instead of burning.

1- PSP games can be emulated on PS3 in 2 modes: PSP Remaster or PSP Mini 2- There is a PSP Launcher for each mode. They are included in webMAN MOD https://store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=310 3- The compatibility of PSP games is relatively low. Near 60% are playable. Some games are playable as Mini, others as Remaster. Try the games with both launchers. Many games show glitches, have issues with save or freeze after few seconds. But the games that are compatible generally look better than PS2 games. 4- The UMD should be dumped as ISO 9660. CSO -a popular format on PSP scene- are not compatible. 5- The ISO should be placed in PSPISO folder at the root of USB, /dev_hdd0 or streamed by ps3netsrv 6- The USB can be FAT32, NTFS, exFAT or ext2/3. FAT32 is recommended. The other file systems require prepISO to detect them. In summary: 1- Put the ISO in /PSPISO 2- Use webMAN MOD to mount the games and PSP Launcher to play them. A second method for launching PSP games involves the creation of a PKG using PSP2PS3 mini found in my PS3 Tools Collection. https://www.psx-place.com/threads/playing-psp-on-ps3.115/ Using this method the PSP game is installed on internal HDD and launched directly from XMB. The compatibility could be slightly better due the tool includes configs for a few games. Also there are more options that can be tweaked.

So I have a zipped PSP ISO file, I drag that file (still zipped) into POWER ISO . I extract that and I get these two files (see pic) are these the correct file types to mount using Webman Mod PSP File system.jpg

NO!!! Read again #5: 5- The ISO should be placed in PSPISO folder at the root of USB, /dev_hdd0 or streamed by ps3netsrv PSP emulator on PS3 only supports ISO 9660 (not extracted folders, not ZIP, not CSO, not DAX, not JSO, etc.)

If my PSP game is in the Eboot.PBP format, will it also work fine when launched with the PSP remasters launcher ?

You can search for a tool named "POPSConverter" which can convert PBP to ISO.
