  • Screenshot Opens "Preview" rather than saves to Desktop Issue Suddenly on my Wife's 2013 MacBook Air running macOS Big Sur. CMD-SHIFT-5 allows me to create my screenshot like we've always done in the past, however tonight while she is doing some work, the moment she clicks "Capture," to capture some web page images she needs to save, Preview opens. What happened to the just dumping the image on my desktop functionality? Has Apple snuck some weirdness onto my Wife's computer? Why would this change...how do I get that functionality back? I don't feel like I should have to work some "terminal" or CLI magic to get that back and the only other solutions I have seen are people discussing "Touch Bar" settings. My Wife's computer doesn't do "Touch Bar..." 2022 3

  • Download arrows on all my desktop files on MacBook Pro My previous question was about problems with my mouse. Now I see there is a download arrow on all my desktop folders. If I click on the download arrow it has the hands of a clock and looks like it has downloaded. Now if I double click with my mouse on that file I can open a photo within that folder. I haven't changed anything in my settings. I don't understand what is happening. 1555 3

Possibly you have not set up right corner click yet, (the default being two fingers).

  1. Launch System Preferences and click on “Trackpad”
  2. Under the “Point & Click” tab, click underneath that to pull down the menu
  3. Choose of three options for secondary click: "Click in bottom right corner"

Personally, I just drag them from the web page to the

desktop or what ever folder I want them in.
