If I click on the download arrow it has the hands of a clock and looks like it has downloaded. Now if I double click with my mouse on that file I can open a photo within that folder. Possibly you have not set up right corner click yet, (the default being two fingers).

  1. Launch System Preferences and click on “Trackpad”
  2. Under the “Point & Click” tab, click underneath that to pull down the menu
  3. Choose of three options for secondary click: "Click in bottom right corner"

Personally, I just drag them from the web page to the

desktop or what ever folder I want them in.
