Eligibility
To qualify to be a candidate for Mayor or Council, a person must be:
- At least 21 years of age
- A resident of and have resided in the city for at least 12 months immediately preceding the election
- Qualified to vote in the city
If the Mayor or a Council Member no longer qualifies, the City Council at its next regular meeting shall declare the position vacant and fill the vacancy as provided by the City's Charter.
Term of Office
The Mayor and Council are elected from the city at large for two-year terms and can serve only 3 consecutive terms.
