1. Turn on the power

Before you are able to craft the R.A.I K-84, you will need to make sure you have turned on power for the whole map. Once you have enough points to open the door in the starting area (1500), head up to the teleporter and interact with it to arrive at the firebase. Here you will need to activate three Aether reactors by killing zombies in each area until the progress bar is full.

2. Grab the R.A.I K-84 blueprint from the weapon lab

After turning on the power, the doors between the motor pool and data centre will become accessible. Head inside to gain access to the weapon lab. Inside the lab, there will be a blueprint (highlighted in yellow) for the R.A.I K-84 on the wall above the workbench. Picking it up will begin the quest to find the items needed to craft the wonder weapon.

You can keep track of all the parts you have by checking your inventory, located underneath the scoreboard.

3. Cut out Kuhlklay’s eye

Once you have the blueprints, head over to the opposite side of the map – near the scorched defence section. A body will now have spawned next to a flaming tank (pictured below). Getting close to the corpse will prompt an interaction to retrieve its eye. Interacting with the body will play a short cutscene where your character will cut out Kuhlklay’s eye and then proceed to kill him. This will add the eye to your inventory and you can carry on to the next step.

4. Scan the eye into the computer

After acquiring the eye, you will need to return back to the weapon lab. The computer will read “prove you are me” and the retina scanner can be interacted with. Place the eye in the scanner and after a few seconds, the computer will make a sound and the screen will turn from red to green.

5. Take the key and open lockers in the barracks

Once the retinal scan has been verified, a previously locked draw will open beneath the computer – revealing a key highlighted in yellow. Pick up the key and head over to the barracks section of the map. There will be nine lockers scattered across the rooms throughout both barracks buildings, in between each of the bunkbeds.

You will know when you are in the right area as a voice line plays, suggesting to try the key on the lockers. Interacting with the lockers will open them, with some being empty and others containing intel you can collect.

When all lockers are open, a roaring noise plays, signalling that some mimics have spawned into the map. Once they have arrived, they will seek you out. It is usually best to leave the barracks as it can be quite easy to get stuck inside when being swarmed by multiple enemies. Killing the mimics will prompt one to drop the barrel of the R.A.I K-84, highlighted in yellow. This can then be picked up and added to your inventory.

6. Shoot the dartboard in the village with codes from the computer

This next step can be confusing, but it is simple enough when broken down into parts. You should then return to the weapons lab, and the computer will be displaying a green screen with a circle. Interacting with the computer will cause a highlighted section to rotate its way around the circle and stop on a specific section, playing a sound each time it pauses (pictured below).

This will happen three times, and you should make a note of where on the circle is highlighted each time the rotation stops and a sound is played. If you miss a section, do not worry as the sequence can be repeated as many times as you want. All you have to do is interact with the computer again.

Once you are confident you know the sequence, you can take the teleporter back to the village. A new section of the map will now be open to the left of Pack-a-Punch. This new section has a dartboard on the wall near the Wunderfizz. The earlier pattern that appeared on the computer references different numbers on this dartboard. You need to shoot the numbers on the dartboard in the order that they appeared in the original sequence, then shoot the middle/bullseye of the dartboard. If you end up forgetting the sequence then don’t worry as you can travel back to the firebase to interact with the computer again whenever you want by taking the teleporter.

It is also important to note that when interacting with the dartboard you need to be careful and only shoot each section once. Therefore, burst weapons or melee will not work here. If you need a single fire gun to do this step quickly, there is a green revolver wallbuy in the starting spawn area just outside.

Once you have finished the sequence, it will open to reveal the next part of the R.A.I K-84, the Aetherium Converter. Remember to pick up this part and add it to your inventory before returning to the firebase.

7. Get the R.A.I K-84 power cell from a Mangler’s arm cannon

After round 15, a new enemy type will start to spawn in – the Russian Mangler. This enemy type will be a familiar sight to any fans of the Black Ops 3 zombies map Gorod Krovi. For those unaware, this enemy has a powerful arm cannon that can attack you from great range but needs to be charged up first.

To acquire the next part, you will need to destroy the Mangler’s arm cannon at a certain time. As the Mangler is charging up his attack, his arm will begin to glow orange and he will be standing stationary. While this is happening, shoot his arm cannon and it should explode and drop the power cell for the R.A.I K-84. If this doesn’t happen with the first Mangler, don’t worry as it can sometimes take a few attempts to drop. Powerful one-shot weapons like shotguns or snipers will make this step a lot easier.

Once his arm cannon has been destroyed, an uncharged power cell will be on the floor for you to pick up. This is easily distinguishable from other zombie drops as it is a quest item highlighted in yellow. You can then kill the Mangler if he is not already dead as he is no longer required for this step. You can then pick up the power cell to proceed.

8. Charge the R.A.I K-84 power cell

Return to the weapon lab and on the table to the right as you enter will be a charging station. Getting close to the charging station will prompt you to place the power cell in and charge it up.

You must leave the power cell in the charging station for one FULL round. For example, if you place the cell at the start of round 16, you will not be able to retrieve it until round 18. The power cell can only be picked up again when it is fully charged (highlighted in yellow). Once this is the case, recollect the power cell to add it to your inventory. If you try to pick up the power cell before it is ready, you will hear a voice line telling you how it needs to be charged further.

9. Craft the R.A.I K-84 on the workbench in the weapon lab

Once you have done all the previous steps, you will finally have all of the required parts to build the wonder weapon. You can now return to the workbench where you first found the blueprints in the weapon lab. You should be able to interact with it to craft the R.A.I K-84. If you are unable to, be sure to open up your inventory and double-check you aren’t missing anything. After you have crafted it, you can pick it up and equip it into one of your weapon slots.

You can now use the extremely powerful R.A.I K-84 wonder weapon in your game. The R.A.I K-84 is almost an essential pick for anyone looking to reach high rounds on Firebase Z. Its standard mode is fully automatic fire that can headshot as well as penetrate multiple targets. This makes it extremely effective at taking out large groups of zombies.

There is also an area of effect secondary fire mode. This is a grenade launcher that sends out an energy projectile, slowing and damaging any zombies caught within the blast. For additional massive damage, you can switch back to the standard fire mode and shoot this energy projectile before it expires, which will make it explode and deal an insane amount of damage to any enemy in range.

Also, the completion of Firebase Z’s main quest easter egg requires the R.A.I K-84 wonder weapon, which upon finishing can earn you bonus experience and an exclusive calling card.
