Rachel Campos was born on the 22nd of October, 1971, and is 50 years old as of 2022. She grew up in Tempe, Arizona, in a family consisting of her father, Miguel Campos, her mother, Maria del Pilar, and her three siblings, Patrick, Joseph, and Leah Campos Schandlbauer.

Her parents were both junior-high-school teachers, and her sister used to be a CIA operations officer before running for the U.S. Congress in Arizona in 2012.

Her grandparents immigrated to the U.S. from Mexico. Rachel and her siblings grew up in a strictly Catholic home, seeing her schooling at the Seton Catholic Preparatory High School. She then joined Arizona State University, from where she graduated in 1993 with an economics degree.

Rachel was awarded the Woodrow Wilson Graduate Fellowship, which she intended to use to attend graduate school to become a college professor. Instead, she earned her master's degree in international affairs from the University of California.

TV shows

In 1994, Rachel was featured on The Real World: San Francisco and lived in the house on Russian Hill for four months. She started dating fellow housemate David Rainey, but their relationship was primarily tumultuous. The friendship ended, and Campos admitted to being an initial bad judge of character and too trusting.

After Rainey's eviction from the house, Campos became friends with his replacement, Joanna Rhodes. Throughout the show and in MTV's promotional materials, Campos was depicted as a devout Catholic and a passionate Republican who idolized Jack Kemp. In 1998, Campos and other alumni of past Real World seasons taped Road Rules: All-Stars.

Husband and children

Campos was in a relationship when she left The Real World, but it was cut short through a tragic accident. While the 5th season of the show was being filmed, Campos, her boyfriend, and another friend got involved in a head-on car collision. The driver of an oncoming vehicle had dozed off on the wheel, causing the accident and killing her boyfriend and his friend instantly.

Campos was thrown out through the passenger window and sustained serious injuries, but she survived. After getting over the loss of her boyfriend, she started dating Sean Duffy, who also starred in Road Rules: All-Stars. They moved in together in Ashland, Wisconsin, where Duffy was the District attorney.

In 2011, Duffy became a Republican member of congress for the 7th district of Wisconsin. As a result, the couple moved from Ashland to Weston, Wisconsin. In 2013 they moved to Wausau, Wisconsin, for her husband to be near an airport due to his weekly trips to Washington D.C.

Campos and Duffy have established a large family together, and they are parents to nine children. In 2008, Campos revealed that she had suffered two miscarriages. Their last child is a daughter, who was born in 2019.

She was born a month early and was diagnosed with down syndrome. Having anticipated that she would have health complications like a heart condition, Sean Duffy resigned from Congress in September 2019 to devote his time to his family.
