UPDATE TWO: Operation North Star has been officially revealed for Rainbow Six Siege and has a release date set for June 14, 2021. Ubisoft has also announced its plans to launch new a new operator called Thunderbird, who can heal nearby players using Kona Stations.

UPDATE: For anyone wanting to catch the latest new season reveal from Ubisoft, the Rainbow Six Siege North Star showcase will begin at 3pm BST, later today.

It should be noted that the Grand Final of R6 Invitational is scheduled to begin 4pm BST, and is available to watch on Twitch.

ORIGINAL: Ubisoft has been slowly teasing the now leaked Rainbow Six Siege North Star expansion this week, with more news coming on May 23.

Operation North Star reportedly includes a new Operator named Thunderbird, as well as a newly reworked map, as well as few refreshed features.

This is what has leaked so far, with the full Rainbow Six Siege North Star reveal scheduled for May 23, during the Six Invitational.

Ubisoft confirmed as much earlier this week, posting the full schedule for what it has planned for the big eSports event.

The new Defender, Thunderbird, will heal nearby players and provide aid to Team Rainbow when North Star launches on June 14. Take a look at what's to come with the UbiNews team.

This will be happening during the playoff, which is due to end on May 23, with Ubisoft telling fans:

“Since the delay of the Six Invitational earlier this year, our teams have been hard at work evaluating all possible options for the “May Edition” of the Six Invitational 2021.

“We are happy to announce that we have been authorized by the government and the local authorities to hold the Six Invitational 2021 in Paris, France, from May 11th to 23rd, with no audience on-site and following strict sanitary measures.”

WHAT TIME IS THE RAINBOW SIX SIEGE NORTH STAR REVEAL?

Ubisoft has confirmed that the Rainbow Six Siege North Star reveal will be happening at around 3pm BST, on Sunday, May 23.

It will be sandwiched between the lower bracket final and the Grand Final, meaning we can probably expect a trailer and some early details on what the new operator will play like.

Recent leaks suggest the new operator will be called Thunderbird and will boast some kind of healing ability.

This will be used via her primary gadget, which will be a healing turret. Thunderbird will be able to deploy more than one of these stations and they will heal players who are within a certain radius.

These gadgets will require some kind of charge and won’t be the only big news revealed during the Six Invitational event.

The Favela map is also reportedly getting reworked and this could be announced during the upcoming North Star event.

As always, these new leaks should be taken with a pinch of salt, we won’t know for sure how accurate they are until Ubisoft makes its big reveal.

As mentioned above, the Rainbow Six Siege North Star reveal will happen during the Six Invitational.

The Grand Final is scheduled to kick off at 4pm BST, meaning there will be less than an hour between the North Star and Grand Finals kicking off.

The final phase of the Six Invitational has consisted of a double-elimination bracket. All Playoffs matches have been played using the best-of-three rule, and following the Group Stage, the top 4 teams of Group A and B have been battling it out in the upper bracket.

Meanwhile, the teams ranked between the 5th and 8th positions in each group have dropped into the lower bracket.

The Grand Final will consist of a best-of-five match with a map advantage to the upper bracket team and unlimited overtime.
