Business Ventures

In June 1991, Stevens opened his first venue, the Ray Stevens Theater, in Branson, Missouri. The theatre had a seating capacity of around 2,000, with Stevens performing two shows a day, six days a week, from 1991 through 1993. The shows were a blend of comedy and live music with elements of pre-recorded video.

After 1993, Stevens began leasing the theater to other shows, then returned to perform from 2004 until 2005, before selling the theater for an undisclosed amount in 2006. Several years later, in early 2018, after almost two years of construction, Stevens launched his CabaRay Showroom in West Nashville.

The 750-seat dinner theater showcased live performances by Stevens and other country stars, with Stevens personally invested in the venue, though the exact amount has not been publicly disclosed. Tickets for shows range from $57 for balcony seating to $118 for front-row VIP seats. However, during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the venue closed but reopened at reduced capacity in October of the same year.

In July 2025, Stevens had a non-fatal heart attack at the age of 86 and decided to put the showroom up for sale, but continues to make music, although he no longer performs live.

Real Estate

Stevens has lived in the Belle Meade area of Nashville, Tennessee, since 1962, though little is known about his real estate assets. However, in 2016, he bought one of the most impressive estates in the area for $2.85 million from retired banker Bob Shell. The property spans 10,179 square feet and features six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a chef’s kitchen, and floor-to-ceiling windows.​ The mansion also features a large swimming pool, an outdoor kitchen, and a private guest cottage for visitors. There is also a separate laundry wing, a whirlpool tub, a sauna, and a three-car garage.​

In August 2023, after 7 years in the property, Stevens put the house up for sale for $8.2 million. Then, in April 2024, he reduced the price to $6.3 million before reportedly selling it for an undisclosed amount in February 2025. It’s unclear where Stevens has moved to, though, following his recent bout of ill health, it would make sense that he has downsized to a smaller property.
