A new adaptation of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher books is coming to Amazon Prime Video on Friday 4 February.

The series – simply called Reacher – will star Alan Ritchson as the eponymous former police detective. It’s set to adapt 1997 novel The Killing Floor, which was the first Jack Reacher novel published.

Here’s everything you need to know about Reacher.

What is it about?

Jack Reacher goes to Georgia to investigate a murder – but is soon accused of one himself, and forced to try and clear his name before the situation escalates any further.

The series adapts the first Jack Reacher novel, The Killing Floor.

Who stars in the cast?

Alan Ritchson plays Jack Reacher, the former army police officer who moves from town to town solving crimes. You’ll likely recognise Ritchson from his role in Smallville, where he played Aquaman.

He’s joined by Malcolm Goodwin, who plays Margrave Police Department Chief Detective Oscar Finley. Goodwin has previously starred in supernatural crime procedural iZombie.

Harvey Guillén – best known for his role as Guillermo in What We Do in the Shadows – is also part of the cast, playing Jasper.

Matthew Marsden (Coronation Street), Willa Fitzgerald (The Goldfinch) and Bruce McGill (My Cousin Vinny) round out the rest of the cast.

How tall is Alan Ritchson?

Alan Ritchson is 6 ft 2 inches (or 1m 88cm) tall.

The character Jack Reacher is extremely tall in Lee Child’s novels – a massive 6ft 5 – which is something a lot of novel fans are very particular about. Tom Cruise, who previously played Jack Reacher in two films, was quite a controversial casting choice because he’s only 5ft 7.

Is there a trailer?

The series will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video on Friday 4 February.

All eight episodes of the series will be released at once.
