How to Read a Phase Diagrams
Everybody remembers that the boiling point of water is 100°C, but that's only true at a certain pressure (1 bar). Boiling points, melting points, and sublimation points vary with pressure. A phase diagram helps show what phase exist at what temperature and pressure. What you need to know:
- Where the phases are
- Important points on the diagram
- Gibbs phase rule
