Troubleshooting Guide

Metal Detector Not Working

For PC:

• First, ensure that your Metal Detector is actually not functioning. Switch sessions 1–2 times and test the same location to confirm the issue.
• Completely close game and the Rockstar Games Launcher.

• Open File Explorer and go to:

  In this folder, you will see one or more subfolders named with your profile ID(s). Open the relevant profile folder.

• Inside the selected profile folder, delete the file named Player.
• Relaunch the game and check if the issue is resolved.

For Console:

• Fully power off your console. For best results, unplug the power cable and wait at least 30 seconds before plugging it back in.
• Power the console back on.
• On the console home screen, launch game. As soon as the screen goes black, hold (PlayStation: L1 + R1) / (Xbox: RB + LB).
• Continue holding the buttons until the main menu fully loads, then release them.
• You will need to reconfigure your game settings afterward.

Missing Items

If you've come across an item that doesn’t appear on today’s map, it's likely a leftover spawn from a previous cycle. These items are only visible to you and cannot be found by other players. You can collect them by switching the map view to the previous day’s cycle — a known but harmless glitch occasionally triggered in sessions (a buggy bonus from Rockstar).

These leftover items do not affect the current cycle. That means you can collect the same item twice in one cycle. Be aware: Changing sessions or using fast travel will despawn them.

If you're missing an item or suspect the map cycle is incorrect, please follow the steps below. (If the issue is resolved after the first two steps, you may disregard the remaining ones.)

For PC:

• Change Session

  • Switch sessions 1–2 times via the in-game menu. Ensure you are not placed back into the same session.
• Restart the Game.

• Clear Game Cache

  • Exit both the game and the Rockstar Games Launcher.

  • Open File Explorer and go to:

  • Delete all files with the .dat extension.
  • Relaunch the game.

For Console:

• Change Session

  • Switch sessions 1–2 times via the in-game menu. Ensure you are not placed back into the same session.
• Restart the Game.

• Power Cycle Your Console

  • Exit the game completely and turn off your console.
  • Unplug the power cable for at least 30 seconds.
  • Reconnect and launch the game again.

Import RDO character inventory

To import your character inventory to this map, follow this steps:

1. Log in your Social Club account.

2. Click box bellow to copy its content.

3. Open your browser console on Social Club website and paste the script from step 2 and press enter.

If everything is right, a new file will be downloaded with your inventory data. Just import it using the button bellow.
