Red Dead Redemption 2: How To Sell Valuables And Stolen Items
Maybe your like
In Red Dead Redemption 2, players will quickly amass a collection of stolen goods and valuables. Trinkets and accessories such as rings, belt buckles, and watches can be found on the bodies of downed enemies or they can be found throughout homes in the game.
Selling these items can be a good way to make money in the game, however, offloading them isn't so easy. Red Dead Redemption 2 makes players jump through a few hoops before they can sell valuables and stolen items.
Where to Find a Fence in Red Dead Redemption 2
Valuables and stolen items cannot be sold at general stores and other, "legitimate" vendors. They can only be sold at fences and these have to be unlocked - they are not available by default. In addition to giving players money for stolen items and valuables, they also sell masks that conceal Arthur's identity when performing crimes, weapons such as the tomahawk, and items such as the lock breaker which allows players to open lockboxes without making a lot of noise.
In order to unlock the first fence in the game, players have to progress through the game's story. In Red Dead Redemption 2's second chapter, a mission called The Spines of America will introduce players to a character called Seamus, a fence located at Emerald Ranch. Without giving a lot of spoilers away here, the mission serves as a sort of tutorial for robbing people.
Once players have successfully completed this mission, they will be able to visit Seamus in order to sell valuables and stolen items. Seamus will also buy stolen wagons from players, making highway robbery a potentially lucrative way of getting cash. Seamus is the only fence in the game who will accept stolen wagons, so unless players want to go on a cross-country trip with their newly-lifted vehicle, it may be best to stay close to Emerald Ranch when planning a highway robbery.
In total, there are four fences located in the game. Besides Seamus at Emerald Ranch, there is also a fence to the east of Saint Denis, a fence in the Lemoyne area of Rhodes (it's to the northeast), and there's a fence at the Van Horn Trading Post which is to the east of New Hanover. The fence locations are fairly spread out meaning that players will always be pretty close to somewhere where they can offload their collection of gold pocket watches.
