Venonat line[]
Venonat is a Bug/Dark type that evolves at level 31 into either Muramoth as a male or Lucemoth as a female.
It can be found in Petalburg Woods.
Muramoth is the male evolution of Venonat. It is a Bug/Dark type.
Lucemoth is the female evolution of Venonat. It trades its Dark type for a Fairy type, making it a Bug/Fairy type.
Tentacool line[]
Tentacool is a Water/Electric type that evolves at level 30 into Tentacruel.
It can be found pretty much anywhere while surfing.
Tentacruel is the evolution of Tentacool, retaining its Water/Electric type.
Dunsparce line[]
Dunsparce gains the electric type in Hoenn, making it a Normal/Electric type. It evolves into Drasparath at level 40.
It can be found in Granite Cave.
Drasparath is the evolution of Dunsparce, it turns into a Dragon/Electric type.
Farfetch'd line[]
Farfetch'd is found in its normal form on Hoenn's Route 110, but it can evolve into Mallar'ki at level 28 here.
Mallar'ki is a Fighting/Flying type.
Dreepy line[]
Dreepy is a Fire/Dragon type in the Hoenn region. It evolves into Drakloak at level 35.
It can either be obtained in Burning Grotto as a wild encounter or in an egg from Drake during a trip on the ship from Lilycove City to Slateport City or vice versa. The second method can only be done after beating the champion.
Drakloak keeps the same typing as its previous evolution, Dreepy, and evolves into Dragapult at level 50.
Dragapult is the final evolution of the Dreepy line and evolves from Drakloak. It stays as a Fire/Dragon type.
Mareanie line[]
Mareanie is now a Rock/Poison type and evolves into Toxapex at level 38.
Mareanie can only be found by triggering an encounter after smashing a rock. Not all rocks count though, only the ones in Granite Cave, Fallarbor Mines and Briny Trench. It has a low encounter rate (5%-9%).
Toxapex stays a Rock/Poison type upon evolution.
Teddiursa line[]
Teddiursa gains the fire type in Hoenn, making it a Normal/Fire type. It evolves at level 30 into Ursaring.
It can be found on Route 111.
Ursaring is the evolution of Teddiursa, retaining its Normal/Fire type.
Skarmory line[]
Skarmory gains the fire type in Hoenn, making it a Steel/Fire type.
It can be found on Route 113.
Tynamo line[]
Tynamo in Hoenn decided to stop levitating and added the Ground type to its arsenal, making it an Electric/Ground type.
One can be found in the Fallarbor Mines or the Desert Underpass. It evolves at level 39 into Eelektrik.

Eelektrik can also be found in the wild in the Desert Underpass, which is unlocked after the sixth gym. It's an important location as it evolves into Eelektross by leveling up there.

Eelektross can also be found in the wild in the Desert Underpass, which is unlocked after the sixth gym. It's the final evolution of the Tynamo line.
Tangela line[]
Tangela transforms into a fighting type in Hoenn. It evolves into Tangrowth by learning Bramble Bash at level 34.
It can be found on Route 114.
Tangrowth is the evolution of Tangela and gains the dark type on top of its fighting type, making it a Fighting/Dark type.
Pinsir line[]
Pinsir gains the ground type in Hoenn, making it a Bug/Ground type.
It can be found on Route 111's desert.
Maractus line[]
Maractus adds the fire type on top of its grass type in Hoenn, resulting in a Grass/Fire type. It can be found in the Jagged Pass.
Doduo line[]
Doduo keeps its regular form, but Dodrio gets a whole new look in the Hoenn region, making it a Flying/Ground type. It is obtainable by leveling up a Doduo, while having a Marowak in your party.
A Doduo can be found on Route 112. Cubone is found in the desert, next to the route where Doduo can be found.
Solosis line[]
This evolution line is not breedable.
Solosis gains the grass type alongside its psychic type, making it a Psychic/Grass type. It evolves into Duosion at level 35.
It can be obtained by trading a Kecleon in Pacifidlog Town, or randomly when picking berries.
Duosion continues the Psychic/Grass type and will only evolve into Reuniclus when leveling up while having a high friendship during the day.
It can be found on Route 119 and 120.
Reuniclus is the final evolution of the Solosis line and keeps the Psychic/Grass type.
Goomy line[]
Goomy's changes into a fairy type. It evolves into Goolossal by leveling up with high friendship.
It can be found in the patches of grass near the Weather Institute on Route 119.
Goolossal is the evolution of Goomy.
Shuckle line[]
Shuckle trades its bug type for a grass type in the Hoenn region, making it a Rock/Grass type.
It can be found on Route 120.
Emolga line[]
Emolga suddenly decided to become a vampire in the Hoenn region, changing its Electric type for a Ghost type, making it a Ghost/Flying type.
It can be found on top of Mt. Pyre.
Pawniard line[]
Pawniard switches the dark type for the more recent fairy type, making it a Steel/Fairy type. It evolves into Bisharp at level 50.
It can be found on Route 123.

Bisharp is the evolution of Pawniard and stays a Steel/Fairy type.
Seel line[]
Seel trades the ice type for a dark type, making it a Water/Dark type. It evolves into Dewgong at level 34.
It can be found as a surf encounter on Route 124 and Route 125.
Dewgong is the evolution of Seel and continues the trend of the Water/Dark type.
Onix line[]
This Onix is inspired by the Orange Island season of the anime. It is a Rock/Ice type and can evolve into Chrysalix at level 48.
It can be found in the first section of Shoal Cave during high tide as an overworld encounter. Another way to get more encounters is to run around the frozen part during low tide.
Chrysalix is the evolution of Onix and keeps the Rock/Ice type.
Chinchou line[]
Chinchou has switched its electric type for a ghost type, making it a Water/Ghost type. It evolves into Lanturn by using a Dusk Stone.
It can be found in the underwater grass patches, like the ones underneath Sootopolis City dive spot.
Lanturn is the evolution of Chinchou and retains the Water/Ghost type.
Qwilfish line[]
Qwilfish trades its water type for a steel type in the Hoenn region, making it a Poison/Steel type.
It can be found on Route 134 by fishing with a Super Rod.
Regigigas[]
Regigigas changes from a Normal type to a Ghost type in the Hoenn region.
It can be found in the Sunken Crypt, which is a new location hidden in the Fallarbor Mines.
