Registration Dates & Times

To find your registration dates and times, please log in to Banner and follow steps:

1. Select "Student View"
2. Select the four-square icon in the upper left corner
3. Select "Banner" then "Student"
4. Select "Nighthawk Course Scheduler (Registration)" 
5. Select "Prepare for Registration"
6. Select your desired semester/year and submit.

Please be sure to check Banner for any holds. All student holds should be resolved prior to registration.

• Summer 2026 Schedule

  Continuing/Active Undergraduate Students

  • Registration for Summer 2026 will open October 30 for continuing students (students who last attended Summer 2025, and/or Fall 2025) and will be based on student overall earned credit hours.
  • Registration will remain open until January 16, except for intermittent periods of required closing (please check your registration time ticket for available registration periods).

  Graduate Students

  • Registration for Summer 2026 will open October 27 for all Graduate students.

  Cross-Campus Registration (Undergraduate Students only)

  • From October 30-November 19, Gainesville, Cumming, Blue Ridge, and Oconee students are permitted to cross-register for Gainesville, Cumming, Blue Ridge, and Oconee classes but will not be permitted to register for Dahlonega classes except in specified programs. Dahlonega students will only be permitted to register for Dahlonega classes in most programs.
  • From November 20 – January 16, students seeking a Bachelor’s degree will be permitted to register for courses offered at any campus.                                                                      

  Summer 2026 Add/Drop Dates

  • Maymester – May 18
  • Full session – May 18 – May 20
  • First short session - May 18 - May 19
  • Second short session - May 18 - June 23

  New Degree and Certificate Seeking Students

  • Registration will occur during your orientation session.

  Non-Degree, Non-Certificate, and Transient Students

  • Registration will begin April 1 at 8 a.m. 
  • View the approved course list for those non-degree and non-certificate seeking students who have not previously earned a bachelor's degree. Please note that this list will not apply to transient students or students who have already earned a bachelor’s degree.

  Post-Baccalaureate/Re-Admitted Degree and Certificate Seeking Students

  • Registration will begin November 13 at 8 a.m.

  Amendment 23 (Aged 62 and Older)

  • Registration will begin for Degree-Seeking Amendment 23 students on November 21 at 8 a.m.
  • Registration for Non-Degree-Seeking Amendment 23 students will begin April 27 at 8 a.m.

  TAP Students

  • Registration will begin April 27 at 8 a.m.

  Audit Registration

  • Students who wish to audit a course may only register for the course during the Add/Drop period with instructor permission using the Course Registration Form found in Banner. The Course Registration Form must be submitted to the Registrar’s Office by the end of the Add/Drop period to be processed.

• Fall 2026 Schedule

  Continuing/Active Undergraduate Students 

  • Registration for Fall 2026 will open April 2 for continuing students (students who last attended Summer 2026, Spring 2026, or Fall 2025) and will be based on student overall earned credit hours.
  • Registration will remain open until August 14, except for intermittent periods of required closing (please check your registration time ticket for available registration periods).

  Graduate Students

  • Registration for Fall 2025 will open March 24 for all Graduate students.

  Cross-Campus Registration (Undergraduate Students only)

  • From April 2– April 22, Gainesville, Cumming, Blue Ridge, and Oconee students are permitted to cross-register for Gainesville, Cumming, Blue Ridge, and Oconee classes but will not be permitted to register for Dahlonega classes except in specified programs and courses, and Dahlonega students will only be permitted to register for Dahlonega classes in most programs.
  • From April 23– August 14, students seeking a Bachelor’s degree will be permitted to register for courses offered at any campus.

  Fall 2025 Add/Drop Dates

  • Full Session: August 10-14

Maximum Hours/Course Loads

The maximum number of hours for which anyone will be able to register will be 20 credit hours in the spring and fall (16 hours in the summer) except for those students with learning support or CPC requirements, or those students not in good academic standing. These students will have a maximum of 17 credit hours (spring and fall).
