Which Sports Are in the Game?

Nintendo Switch Sports will include six sports at launch. Badminton, bowling, chambara, tennis, soccer, and volleyball will be playable when the game is released.

A Shoot-Out mode in soccer and golf is planned to be added later after launch.

Is There Multiplayer and Online Play?

Nintendo Switch Sports supports multiplayer matches, whether locally with your friends or against random people online. The sports in the game are all designed to be played either solo or with another player.

Local multiplayer support

You can play Nintendo Switch Sports with people in the same room. To play with more people, you need additional Joy-Con controllers, especially for sports that have two-on-two matches.

Online multiplayer support

Nintendo Switch Sports can also be played online as long as you are subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online services. You are able to play in private lobbies with your friends or play against random people via online matchmaking.

If you're feeling more competitive, ranked online matches are also available in the Pro League where you will be matched with other players also vying for the top ranks. Do note that you also need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to play in this mode.

Is There a Free Demo?

An Online Play Test was held last Febraury 18-20, 2022 as a way for everyone to check out the game. Players who opted in for the open beta test were able to have a preview of a few sports in the game.
