Preparatory works for the removal of the steering wheel panel covers

  2. Take out the under-dash panel below the steering wheel by pulling it out firmly with both hands
  3. Pull out the steering wheel if it can be adjusted in depth.

Using a Torx key, take out the two screws that hold the steering wheel cover panels together. You will immediately notice that the upper and lower halves can be easily separated. Remove the steering wheel upper panel first. Picture Now pull the lower steering wheel panel out of the ignition switch then push it downwards to take it out. That's it. Refit the same way but refitting the steering wheel panels takes a bit more time and requires some patience to make sure each half-panel is well aligned with the other so that the screws can go in their intended place.
