I am sad to hear that you damaged your shirt.

There is really no good way to repair a chiffon top. The material is much too fragile and thin and any standard repair would stand out like a sore thumb, so to speak.

If you are artsy and want to create a statement piece, you could put pretty patches all over the top (maybe like flowers or other interesting shapes), but they would have to be a very thin material. This will add weight to the shirt and may alter how it drapes when you wear it.Advertisement

I feel bad having to give a negative answer.

This is very difficult to repair unless you have some of the same material as the one that has been burned. If you did then it is possible to take apart the garment, cut a new piece and sew it back in place. Other than this the shirt is ruined and it can't be repaired.

By similar or contrast cloth and put patches of similar size,Other wise if you have same cloth found then cut bad to your shape and fill the whole using the piece to the newer shape

It is ruined. There is no way it can be repaired. Maybe you can repurpose the undamaged part for something else.

I'm very sorry but I cannot think of any way to repair a large hole in chiffon as the material is so light weight that anything, other than chiffon, will change the way it drapes.AdvertisementI'm not sure you would want to wear it even if you tried to repair it.
