Place a fraud alert with the credit bureaus

What does a fraud alert do?

A fraud alert lets lenders know that you may be a victim of fraud so they’re encouraged to take extra steps to verify your identity before granting new credit. There's no charge, they don't affect your credit score, and can be removed at any time. What's more, if you place a fraud alert at one bureau, they’ll notify the other two for you.
